I saw a dim light from behind me and I approached it.......I soon stopped at a safe distance.......or so I thought...😩....I peered into the light to see/figure🙀 out what it was but just then someone tapped my shoulder.😳😳
"Hi" the voice said from behind me
I jolted and shrieked😲 turning to face the person, she yelled😲 back and I yelled😲 again.....we both yelled😲.....I stopped abruptly while she stared back at me, she was wearing a long white sorta a night gown, twas a bit dirty, the girl was really pretty, with her short black curly hair and her steaming blue eyes, her lips were really red, what if it's bļøøđ☠ red😨🤯 "why are u screaming??😠" The girl asked "you were screaming" I informed "I screamed 'cause u screamed" she retorted "i screamed because u scared me😟" I said expecting an explanation but she just stared back.
I smiled uncomfortably😺
"How'd u even get in here??" I asked from in between my clenched teeth😬
"Through that" she said pointing to the ceiling......I moved my head with my eyes still fixed on her......then I glanced at it, it was an air vent way up in the ceiling......
"How'd u fit🤨🤔??" I asked confused, it was quite small
"I learnt ballerina" she said
I pouted my lips to avoid laughing out loud "i think what u meant to say is, u learnt ballet so you're a ballerina" I corrected
"I'm really.......what's the word......flexible" she continued.....I nodded slowly, she literally just said nothing about my correction
"What about your parents??"I asked
"What about them??" She asked back
"Well, won't they be worried??" I asked......why the f would she sneak into someone else's basement😡😠

"My mother gave me some time alone" she informed, what the f**k does that even mean??sometime alone to sneak around??
"Who's Arrdee" she asked
"Um........he's my.....brother" I said
"Wow, I wish I had a brother" "not like mine" I said cutting her off
"Hmm.......does he hurt u??" She asked wearing a concerned look
"Pardon??"
"Like.....if he hurts u.....physically......emotionally....or mentally" she explained slowly as if I was in kindergarten "oh no, we fight a lot and I get upset but it doesn't mean he hurts me" I rushed "so why don't u like him then??"
"I think its because he behaves like he's better than me, he's lazy and does the complete opposite of what our family portrays, it's so frigging annoying that he gets does he wants and still gets away with it" I answered as I widened my eyes......I can't believe I said that out loud, i looked around the dim room till my eyes fell on her, she smiled revealing a row of gleaming white teeth
"That's enough to be upset about" she informed nodding "do u have any siblings" I asked "Well, no, when i ask......my mother just says 'growing up alone will toughen u' she said with one of her fingers in the air........I smiled
She's not all bad, I wonder if she can come home with me💟😘

"How long have u been in here??" I asked as soon as the thought hit me💆‍♀️
"Hmm two maybe three days" she answered
"😳are u sure your parents won't be worried??"I asked shocked,🙀 what has she been eating??🍜Does grandma even know she's down here??😱
She👧 didn't give me any answer, rather she👧 brushed past me, I turned to look but she was staring at a flower🌺🌹🌷🌻
"Did u grow that??" I asked
"Yah" she Simply stated
"In sand" I asked again, I just wanted to confirm😲.......like who practices hydroponics😟 these days??
"Why" I asked.......Mr grump dreams😒 of the day I become this inquisitive
"Because it fascinating😯.................I mean why grow crops in soil..😮..when u can in water or sand.......and the temperature here's just perfect" she tutored, I smiled then squatted next to her
"What type of plant🌺 is it??" I further asked.....
"My mother told me it's laburnum" she informed, she sure talks about her mother a lot🙄 nevertheless
"It's really pretty" I complimented, she smiled and blushed☺gosh she's pretty

"Are u okay??" She asked as I stood upright
"Yeah, just thinking about personal stuff" I said she stood up "oh I think about personal stuff all the time" she replied smiling I smiled back, i had a feeling she didn't understand what i meant so I asked "Like what" she paused then an idea struck her, she nodded and smiled then looked right at me " you tell me something personal about u and I'll do same, it's a fair trade" she negotiated confidently.......she definitely have no idea what I meant
"Okay............I always tell on my brother so he'll get in trouble with my parents but it seems the more I do this, the closer they get......it's personal because it's something only I know" I elaborated
"A girly advice from me to u....stop telling" she said
"Noted" I replied, I wanted to hear something personal about her "your turn" I added
"Okay.....I pick my nose when I'm alone then I......." "stop.....it's gross" I retorted cutting her off not wanting to hear the rest of it.
We both chuckled then went silent for a while.🙄😐

"Hey....I don't even know your name😏" I reminded, I can't believe😲 I didn't start with this
"Oh that's right......my name's sure"she introduced🤪
"Well Shaw....I'm........" I started
"It's sure....like, are u sure?.....that sure's My name" she emphasized
"But 😒☹ people don't answer that" I said
"Where I come from, we answer all sorts of names like purpose, really, you know......stuff Like that" she said confidently

I hit my head repeatedly with my palm 'stop thinking rubbish'
I heard clattering and I jolted ........... I hurriedly turned around, I sighed twas just a rat squeaking away.......wait! Why was I here again?? Oh yeah, the pelmet, what did it look like again??........um, I saw a painting well, a picture actually, twas ma and another guy .......maybe he's grandpa, I didn't really know him.

Again I heard noises and I hurtled my torch to its direction......... Twas then I realized the place was freaking huge......"hello?" I said trying hard to hide my fear.....I moved closer towards the back "hello" I echoed........"hush, you need to be quiet" someone whispered "um.....how'd you get in here?" I asked........I was being really stupid right now, I couldn't see anyone so why was I asking questions..... I took a corner where most of the furniture were covered in white......."hello!" I called rather silently...... "Go away, you kill it" it said again, I stopped 'kill' what? And with what? "Okay I'll go.....but you better leave before my grandma gets here" I frowned, I'm definitely mad "wait, wait, wait" it called ......I'll say 'she called' cause it sounded like a feminine voice....... I heard footsteps then reflections of light......arrdee stopped at the entrance to my corner smiling, is he possessed??🤔

He walked closer then heaved a long tiring sigh.
"Remember when I said I'd get back at you?" He asked
I widened my eyes as he moved closer, leaned down as if whispering "do you want me to remind you?" He stood upright smiling cheekily at me, I shook my head as I gulped.....arrdee grabbed my phone and disappeared into the labyrinth of corridors "arrdee please, I'm sorry...." I called going after him but I fell by my guess on a couch, I hissed then slowly stood up "arrdee I hate you! Hate your stupid freakish face....." I yelled continuously till I saw a dim light from behind, what could it be?

"Ma?!" I called "where do you get such water?" I asked almost immediately, she smiled
"Well, unlike your city pipes, I get it straight from the bull's eye" she continued, I nodded slowly "so, you like go there with a bucket everyday?" I asked again "oh no, dear, I....." She started
"Ma please don't, she's not gonna remember this tomorrow" arrdee cuts in, I scoffed "are you for real right now?" I asked "its the truth, isn't it?" He asked back " its not! And of course I'll remember, what's your problem?" I asked raising my voice a little
"My problem??" Arrdee echoed
"Babies please" I heard ma say but who gives a hoot right now
"My problem is having a s**thead as a frigging sister...." Arrdee continued
"Arrdee!!" Ma yelled and we went quite
"Don't make me pelt you" she added.
Ooh, I didn't want that! Dad used to tell how hard and fast her hand throws things, back when he used to fight with his peers she'd eventually find out and pelt him with rotten tomatoes😂
"We're a family" she finished.... WAIT! so she had been talking??🤔

"I thought you had a pelmet?" Arrdee said, sounded more like a question, he was standing by the window "hmm mm, I do....it's down in the basement" ma replied "you have a basement?" I asked and she laughed heartily "every house in this neighborhood does baby girl it's down the bathroom corner" she described..... We paused oh....they wanted me to go get it. OK
I swallowed hard on nothing as I stood facing the door of the basement..... I suddenly regretted watching a horror movie last night, but then again how would I have slept? I exhaled sharply through my mouth 'come on Alice you're seventeen, Behave like it'.
I frowned then slowly opened the creaking door and walked in, twas cold and dusty and sure ma hasn't been in here for a long while now. Twas also dark, so I turned on my phone's torch, I just hope nothing attacks me..... I hit my........

"Grandma!" I yelled running towards her, ma spoke and looked like a cow girl, well, I don't blame her though, she rears cows and owns a barn so...
"My baby!" She called hugging me
"I thought you ain't making it today" she continued. I chuckled, dad walked over
"Hi mom" he said as we disengaged then pecked her
"How's my baby?" Grandma asked
"Just a little queasy...... She'll be fine" dad informed "I've gotta go else I'll be late" he quickly added before she could bring up another topic. I waved as dad walked off
"Let's go in, you gon' help me in the kitchen" ma offered, I smiled I loved this woman.

"Pass the pâté" grandma ordered, she sale we were making pasty, but I've never made one like this before......arrdee walked in
"Ma, what're we cooking?"
"Hmm, we need meat right partner?" She asked me, I thought the pâté was meat🙄
"Yeah, yeah we do" I said instead "boy, you gon' contribute, pass me the knife" she continued.....I didn't hesitate one sec, hope she drives it through him😏
"Here" she said handing it over to arrdee, he slowly took it
"An arm will do" she retorted..... I chuckled....... "Seriously?!" Arrdee started "I.....wow, looky here" he stopped smirking and looking out the window
"One sec" he told no one in particular as he placed the knife on the table, he was really engrossed with whatever was out there.
I was curious to know what and when I found out ehnnnn😫

Some minutes later we.....all three of us were sitted eating the pâté ma made, really good one, I'll be sure to tell mom about it.
"So how'd you find my neighbor?!" Ma asked arrdee referring to the girl he was flirting with
"Hmm, pretty but Patsy" he simply stated, ma immediately smacked him with her spoon and he screwed up his face with disgust
"She's a very pretty girl....and helpful too" ma informed, I rolled my eyes and they fell on the pellucid water in front of me.

Dad finally sighed and put a mug down, wait so he had been drinking tea😒😫
"Arrdee, you're staying with your sister at your grandma's" dad finalized "But dad, I need that car" arrdee said

😂😄I love when he begs. WAIT

"Arrdee's getting a new car??" I asked alarmed "well yeah, I promised him he'd get one and he might get the one he actually want, that is, IF he finishes a quest" dad informed in a coded manner, he thinks I won't get it, what am I?? A 5 year old??🤔🤔

"OK, I don't mind it, its alright" arrdee said almost immediately "wha....dad you don't have to pay him to stay with me, besides I'll be fine by myself" I retorted "sis" arrdee called placing his arm on my shoulder "there are sometimes as a big brother.....or sister when you gotta make sacrifices and I just did, my reward awaits me" he chuckled/blabbered. I shook his arm off my shoulder "I'd say thanks but no" I said slowly, dad sighed again "I go get ready" then went upstairs.

Arrdee inhaled deeply "I can almost perceive that sweet smell of a new car" he mumbled "and don't even think about touching my old..." He paused as mom sniffles, sighed and went over to her.
"Okay dinky, let's go" dad called from the stairs "are you going to work?" Mom asked "its an emergency" dad stated patting his pockets just in case he forgot anything, he walked over to mom then kissed her, they chatted indistinctly for a while then dad rushed over to the door. 🙄FINALLY🙄
"Arrdee, you didn't have breakfast yet" mom reminded "I'll eat at ma's" arrdee informed going after dad....mom smiled and blew me a kiss, I faked a grin and walked out the door.

"You'll make breakfast, no wait, your mom will do that, just go get ready oh and wake up arrdee" dad finally concluded
I chuckled wickedly and accepted his offer with alacrity.

I stood by arrdee's bed thinking about the best way to get back at him for yesterday, one came to mind😮🤐

First I kicked off his shoes to a corner then I applied some toothpaste on his palm and slowly ran a finger across his face, thinking twas a bug he jolted hitting his face repeatedly
I 😂😂 and ran to the door, he bent over the bed trying to reach for his slipper but unfortunately for him......

"Dad said to wake you up" I informed with a little bit of attitude
"So you used toothpaste, Alice I'm gonna get you for this" arrdee threatened
I gave a rather silent chuckle as I started for my room.

I sat at the dining table, well I was eating breakfast, dad was going through his morning newspapers, mom was already back and seemed queasy--serves her right for yelling at me😏😏
Arrdee came downstairs some minutes later, he was all dressed up, I don't care, as long as it doesn't mess with my day

"Dad, I thought you'd be ready by now" arrdee stated
I slightly frowned then turned to dad, are they going somewhere?? How about grandma's place then??
Dad closed his newspapers abruptly
"Arrdee, no Alice, can we move the visit?" Dad asked me
"What! No! We moved it last time" I reminded
"Wait, what visit" arrdee asked, why's he acting all innocent??
"Your grandma's" dad informed
"You said we'd go today!" Arrdee said
"That's exactly what he told me" I contributed
"Please kids, keep it down, I have a throbbing headache" mom groaned from the kitchen
"Mom you should be with me on this" I said
"No, she should be with ME on this" arrdee emphasized
"Peter say something" mom said pleadingly
"Dad you can like, drop me off, I don't mind" I suggested

The rest activities went rather fast, I stood in the seniors' parking lot with my eyes fixed on arrdee's car....I'd probably be home by now if dad hadn't come up with this new rule😣😥

Arrdee walked to the car and unlocked it, he looked around as if looking for something, whatever it was......it sure isn't me

A girl ran towards him and into his arms, he kissed her........for quite some time........I shook my head....first twas bianca and now this.......

He waved at her as she got into another car then drove off
I moved closer and attempted entering the passenger seat
"You really shouldn't be looking when I'm doing grown up stuff" he blurted
I sat down not paying heed to him, it infuriated him
"I'm not your driver......go sit in the front" he demanded
I obediently followed his instruction
"Isn't bianca coming?!" I asked, I knew he'd be even more upset but I said it😎😎
"Mind your business" he calmly stated😮
I hissed then turned..... Looking out the window
"You know what?.........Alice get your ass to the back......I can't stand you right now" he half yelled
I smiled then quickly frowned
"Make up your mind already.....b***h" I muffled...... Getting down.

"Morning, my dinky alarmist ......ready for school?" He asked. I chuckled

I stood up, gathered my text books and proceeded to the dining hall.

I nodded over and over again as drey explained an equation to me
I didn't understand it one bit, but I nodded......I only knew he said something about a radioactive isotope...... That was all.......he soon excused himself

Seniors and juniors both had lunch at the same time and drey would just walk up to one of them and be like "can you explain....." Sometimes he says "help me understand it better"

To me twas embarrassing.....especially when some will say "I ain't you teacher"
Drey has even asked arrdee and he helped him.......stupid bro😒😒

"Hi" Bianca said sitting opposite me......urgh.....what does she want?!
"Hello" I stated
"Bianca right?" I asked slowly then turned to look at drey where he was getting help
"Yeah, and you're Alice........its nice meeting you" she continued
"Same" I said, twasn't like I meant it......just being ironic😎
"You know.......I'm uh.....quite good at math and related issues, I can like talk you through some confusing topics" she blabbered
So.......what?? Arrdee told her I was dumb?
"And just so you know arrdee has nothing to do with this, I just.....you know, I want us to be close" she retorted
I faked a grin
"Listen, bianca.....I can't tell him to not dump you......if that's what all this is about" I informed
She scoffed
"Its not that!" She sighed
"The truth is, arrdee's been complaining about helping you with your assignments lately and..." She stopped to lick her lower lip
"I just want you to be independent, and you're not the only one I'm talking through" she continued
"So, you just help" I simplified
"Yeah, but most of 'em don't like the word 'HELP' so I say 'talk through' instead" she further enlightened
I nodded slowly.......
The bell rang almost immediately
"I'll wait for an answer" she said as I stood up
"Thanks" I stated
