Congratulations to our dear Ogun State.
Carved out 50 years ago, our dear Ogun State has passed through transition from several military and civilian governance:
1. Saidu Ayodele Balogun, a military governor from March, 1976 to July 1978
2. Harris Eghaga, a military governor from July 1978 October, 1979
3. Olabisi Onabanjo, a civilian governor under the platform of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) from October 1979 to December Dec 1983
4. Oladipo Diya, a military governor from January 1984 to August 1985
5. Oladayo Popoola, a military governor or from August 1985 to 1986
6.Raji Alagbe Rasaki, military governor from 1986 to December 1987
7. Mohammed Lawal, a military governor from December 1987 to August 1990
8.Oladeinde Joseph, military governor from August 1990 to January 1992
9. Olusegun Osoba, a civilian governor under the platform of Social Democratic party (SDP) from January 1992 to November 1993
10. Daniel Akintonde, a military administrator from December 1993 to August 1996
11. Sam Ewang, a military administrator, from August 1996 to August 1998
12. Kayode Olofin-Moyin, a military administrator, from August 1998 to May 1999
13. Olusegun Osoba, a civilian governor under the platforms of Alliance for Democracy (AC) and Action Congress (AC), from May 1999 to May 2003
14. Olugbenga Daniel, a civilian governor under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from May 2003 to May 2011
15. Ibikunle Amosun, a civilian governor under the platforms of the Action Congress of Nigeria ( ACN) and All People's Congress (APC) from May 2011 to May 2019
16. Dapo Abiodun, civilian and the incumbent governor under the platform of the All People's Congress (APC) from May 2019 till present.
Ogun state has been here for a while with it's challenges, success and, above all, reasons to celebrate.
