YDM OGUN EAST HOLDS STRATEGIC HOME-BASED MEETING, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO YAYI 2027
Group charges coordinators and members on commitment, grassroots mobilisation and victory for Senator Yayi
IJEBU-ODE, OGUN STATE – August 29, 2026
The Ogun East Senatorial District Home-Based Team of the Yayi Diaspora Movement (YDM) has held a strategic senatorial meeting in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots structure and adequately prepare members for the forthcoming political campaign and 2027 governorship election in the state.
The meeting, which brought together local government coordinators across Ogun East Senatorial District, was convened to review the activities of the movement, strengthen coordination among its various structures and prepare members for the campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
The meeting was led by the State Liaison Officer and overall head of the Home-Based Team, Comrade Saka Raimi, providing strategic leadership and direction.
In attendance were representatives and coordinators from various local government areas, including OLADELE OLATUNBOSUN
Ijebu ode local govt cordinator Odutokun Oluwafunke Rasidat from Ijebu East; Comrade Badejo Oluwatomisin, Coordinator, Ijebu North-East; Oloruntoke Afisu Oluwabukayo, popularly known as ETO, from Ikenne Local Government; Mrs. Salami E. P. from Ogun Waterside; and Salewa Balogun Onilogbo.
The meeting emphasised the need for members and coordinators to remain steadfast, disciplined, committed and united as the movement intensifies its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the campaign season.
Speaking at the meeting, the leadership stressed that the responsibility of ensuring the emergence of the movement’s principal, Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), as the Governor of Ogun State in 2027, requires sustained commitment, effective grassroots engagement and a well-coordinated structure across all local government areas.
The leadership also charged the coordinators to take ownership of their respective areas, strengthen communication with members, mobilise supporters and ensure that the vision and aspirations of the movement reach every ward and community within Ogun East and beyond.
The Ogun East Senatorial Coordinator, commended the commitment of the coordinators and urged them not to relent in their efforts.
He noted that the forthcoming campaign would require every member to be fully prepared and committed, stressing that the strength of the movement lies in its ability to build a formidable grassroots structure and work collectively towards its political objective.
Also speaking, Comrade Saka Raimi, State Liaison Officer and overall head of the Home-Based Team, praised the coordinators for their dedication and encouraged them to remain focused as preparations gather momentum.
He emphasised the importance of unity, loyalty, discipline and consistency, noting that every coordinator has a critical role to play in translating the vision of the Yayi Diaspora Movement into grassroots political strength.
The meeting also featured an expression of appreciation to members of the Yayi Diaspora Movement across the various countries of the world for their continued support, commitment and sacrifice towards the growth of the movement.
The Ogun East Home-Based Team acknowledged the efforts of the diaspora leadership in putting the initiative together and providing the platform through which Nigerians at home and abroad can work together towards a common political objective.
The coordinators at the meeting unanimously expressed their determination to remain committed to the movement and pledged to continue working diligently within their respective local government areas towards achieving the movement’s objectives.
The Local Government Coordinators were also charged to return to their respective wards, strengthen their structures, mobilise more supporters and begin intensive grassroots engagement ahead of the forthcoming campaign and 2027 elections.
The meeting ended with a renewed call for unity, grassroots mobilisation and unwavering commitment as the Yayi Diaspora Movement moves closer to the 2027 election season.
The Ogun East Senatorial District Home-Based Team reaffirmed its readiness to work collectively with the leadership of YDM at home and in the diaspora to build a stronger, more coordinated and formidable political structure in support of Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI).
