We received with profound reverence and heartfelt sorrow the news of the passing of our former President, Muhammadu Buhari, a truly inspirational leader. This loss is a poignant moment for our nation, and it is difficult to fully grasp the weight of his departure, but we take solace in the enduring legacy he leaves behind. As mortals, we are reminded that death is inevitable, yet we hoped that the former President would once again overcome his health challenges, as he had done in the past, a testament to his unwavering resilience.
President Buhari was a visionary leader, a patriot, and a man of uncommon integrity who served Nigeria with distinction both as a military ruler and as a democratically elected president, inspiring generations with his selfless devotion to our nation. His unwavering commitment to accountability, national unity, and infrastructural development remains a lasting legacy, a beacon of hope for a brighter future. He governed with sincerity and a sense of purpose, and even his fiercest critics would agree that personal gain was never his motivation for public service, a shining example of leadership.
On behalf of the people of Ogun West Senatorial District and indeed the entire nation, I extend our deepest condolences to his dear wife, Hajia Aisha Buhari, his family, the Government and people of Katsina State, the Daura Emirate, and the Nigerian Armed Forces, may they find strength in this moment of sorrow. I also commiserate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the loss of a loyal friend and dependable comrade, a bond that transcended politics. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanat Firdaus, eternal peace and tranquility.
