The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, joined His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, at the Treasury Board Meeting on the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2026 Budget, held at the Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun charged all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to collectively generate ₦500 billion to fund the 2026 Budget, urging innovation, accountability, and creativity in revenue generation. He emphasized that the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) will generate ₦250 billion, while other revenue-yielding MDAs are expected to raise the remaining ₦250 billion.
In his opening remarks, the Honourable Commissioner highlighted the State Government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accountability in fiscal governance. He described the Treasury Board Meeting as more than a statutory exercise, noting that it serves as a strategic platform for reflection, evaluation, and collaboration to strengthen the foundations of good governance.
Mr. Okubadejo commended MDAs for their dedication and professionalism throughout the budget preparation process, urging them to defend their proposals with clarity, data, and measurable impact to ensure effective implementation. He emphasized that such collective effort is essential to aligning fiscal priorities with the State’s development goals.
