Abeokuta North Chairman Honours Outstanding Teachers, Administrators for Excellence in Education, Allots Plots of Land to Awardees
The Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, has organized a special reception to honour exceptional teachers and administrators from public primary schools within the local government who have distinguished themselves at both state and national levels.
The recognition ceremony, held at at the local government secretariat, celebrated the achievements of four award-winning educators whose commitment to teaching excellence has brought pride to Ogun State and Nigeria.
Among the honorees was Mr. James Olatunde Odubela, who emerged as the Best State Administrator (Public Primary School Category). Also recognized was Mr. Taiwo Solanke, who not only won the Best State Teacher (Public Primary School Category) in Ogun State but also emerged as the Overall Best Teacher in Nigeria (Public Primary School Category) — a remarkable feat that drew wide applause from attendees.
Others honoured at the event include Mrs. Alonge Bolanle, who emerged as the 2nd Best State Administrator (Public Primary School Category), and Mrs. Tijani Rahamot Bolanle, who was named the 3rd Best State Teacher (Public Primary School Category).
Speaking during the reception, Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo commended the awardees for their dedication, professionalism, and positive impact on pupils in Abeokuta North. He described teachers as the “true builders of the future generation” whose hard work often goes unnoticed, emphasizing the need to celebrate excellence in the education sector.
“These outstanding teachers and administrators have demonstrated that commitment and passion can transform our educational system. Their achievements are not just personal milestones but collective victories for Abeokuta North and Ogun State,” Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo said.
He further allot a plot of land to each of the awardees as an encouragement for their outstanding achievements.
He assured that the local government would continue to support initiatives that promote quality education, reward diligence, and inspire others within the system to strive for excellence.
The event attracted education stakeholders, community leaders, and family members of the awardees, who commended the chairman’s gesture as a laudable example of leadership that values human capital development.
