TOWARDS STRENGTHENING HEALTHCARE DELIVERY IN EBONYI STATE:

We Can Build Better General Hospitals!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of joining the Chairman of Ebonyi State Hospital Management Board, Chief Mrs. Monica Okeagu Ogada, alongside fellow Board Members and Management Staff, in inaugurating Hospital Management Committees for three General Hospitals in our State:
✅ Itim Ukwu General Hospital, Afikpo LGA
✅ Iboko General Hospital, Izzi LGA
✅ Ezzamgbo General Hospital, Ohaukwu LGA

This important initiative is aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between host communities, hospital management, and the Hospital Management Board to ensure greater efficiency, accountability, and continuous development of our General Hospitals.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Chairman emphasized that the enabling law establishing the Board empowers it to constitute Hospital Management Committees across all General Hospitals in the State. This strategic step is designed to strengthen service delivery and support the optimal performance of our healthcare facilities.
She charged the committee members to approach the assignment with dedication, commitment, and a deep sense of responsibility, so that the lofty healthcare vision of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Governor of Ebonyi State, can be fully realized for the benefit of our people.

I am particularly excited because this initiative gives our communities a greater sense of ownership and participation in the growth and sustainability of our healthcare institutions. When government, communities, and healthcare professionals work together, the result is better healthcare services for everyone.
With yesterday's inauguration of these committees, the Board has taken a significant step in our collective journey toward a healthier Ebonyi.

I sincerely appeal to community leaders, healthcare workers, stakeholders, and residents to support these committees and help protect our healthcare facilities. Quality healthcare is a shared responsibility, and together we can build hospitals that truly serve the needs of our people.

TOWARDS ACHIEVING A BETTER HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN EBONYI STATE

The Ebonyi State Hospital Management Board has today inaugurated the Hospital Management Committee at Agba General Hospital, Ishielu LGA and Umuezeoka General Hospital, Ezza North LGA- a landmark step towards improving healthcare service delivery in the state.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Chairman of the Board, Chief Mrs. Monica Ogada, stated that the committee was established in line with the law empowering the Board, with a clear mandate to ensure the optimal performance of the hospital. She emphasized that members of the committee are expected to work closely with the Board and the host communities to actualize the Ebonyi State Government’s vision for effective and quality healthcare.
Notably, Agba and Umuezeoka General Hospital becomes the first two among the 15 General Hospitals in Ebonyi State to have this committee inaugurated—setting the pace for others to follow.
The Chairman charged members of the committee to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating commitment, diligence, and excellence in their duties.
This initiative reflects a strong commitment by the Ebonyi State Government to strengthen healthcare systems and ensure better service delivery at the grassroots level.

Congratulations to the newly inaugurated committee. The future of healthcare in Ebonyi looks brighter!

Ebonyi State Hospital Management Board Members continue their tour of all the secondary health facilities in the state with the view to revamping the health sector at the secondary level.

I invite all pregnant women to the second batch enrollment of 10,000 pregnant women in to the Ebonyi State Health Insurance Scheme (EBSHIS) initiated by my humble self through my foundation, Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO).
