SOLIDARITY VANGUARD FOR AUGUSTINE EDEM & CYRIL UDOSEN 2024 INAUGURATED
The Solidarity Vanguard for Augustine Edem & Cyril Udosen 2024 ahead of the forthcoming local government elections, was formally inaugurated on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Tilapia Island Resort, Abak.
Key appointments include:

- Ambassador Regal Ibokette. MOL - Secretary-General
Three representatives from each ward across the 12 wards in the council area were also inaugurated.
Mr. Augustine Edem emerged candidate of the APC following a highly contested fair and credible primaries, and would alongside his running mate, Mr. Cyril Udosen stand out as invincible duo, considering their widespread acceptability.
In his inaugural address, Ibokette, the newly appointed Chief Scribe stated, " Solidarity Vanguard is an Initiative designed to garner support for the APC in the upcoming council elections. This platform would also serve as a spring board for the Augustine/Cyril campaign. We are determined on a door-to-door campaign, taking the message of effective grassroot governance to the rural communities, market place, worship centres, and other public places."
On behalf of the Chairmanship candidate, Cyril Udosen, the Vice Chairmanship candidate, appreciated the teeming crowd for defying the rains and turning out en masse. He noted that such show of solidarity is an indication that Abak people need a vibrant leadership that could fulfill manifestos, as well as improving their general wellbeing. He promised the people that his Chairmanship candidate and himself is a selfless synergy to deliver people-centric governance.
Speaking, Mr Aniekan Japhet of Ediene clan while declaring his total support to the group appreciated the brainchild, Solidarity Vanguard, urging members to hold firm on the platform. He called on Abak people to rally support for APC, in other to benefit from a new era of inclusiveness.
In a similar development, Mr. Joseph Udonkwo of Otoro clan reeled out economic challenges that have bedeviled Abak people, which the APC leadership is determined to solve for the benefit of all. He urged members to be committed to the course as power is returning to the electorate through the credibility of the APC candidate.
Comrade Erikan Udo-Otu who spoke on behalf of Abak clan emphasized the need for sensible strategies and sensitization in other to win the forthcoming election.
In separate remarks, others who spoke at the event described Augustine Edem as a servant leader needed for rural transformation, security, gender inclusiveness, youth employment, and robust empowerment. They noted that his leadership will address the vacuum challenging the economic stability and healthy living of the Abak community.
Mr. Nsikan Umana described Augustine Edem as a God-fearing leader with impeccable integrity and the most experienced candidate in the forthcoming local government elections, having served as a councillor representing Midim people.
Solidarity Vanguard pledged to employ all peaceful and legitimate means, including intensive mobilisation, among the vast downtrodden to ensure the election of Augustine Edem and Cyril Udosen as Executive Chairman and Vice Chairman, Abak LGA. They promised that Edem's administration will drive positive change and foster a sense of community and unity in the council area.
They urged members of Solidarity Vanguard to be law abiding by observing the official time-table for the elections while looking up to updates from the APC Campaign Committee.
The meeting came to an end at 6:28pm with a call for prayer for the candidates by the Director-General of SOLIDARITY VANGUARD, Evang. Ekikere Charles.
