Wherever you are on a December that is not in Calabar, you will probably miss the fun that the biggest street festival in Africa brings.
Calabar Carnival which runs over the whole month of December! Yes, you heard that right it's one whole month of celebrating carnival that begins on the 1st December and finishes on New Year's Eve the 31st December. Has been an all back entertainment and fun galore and as it draws its curtain come tomorrow Dec 31st 2023, Calabar carnival 2023 winners of different categories keep popping in.
Among the bands which includes CalasVegas, Passion4, Freedom Band, Seagull Band and MastaBlasta and the various dependent ad independent performing group that graced the streets of Calabar during this year 2023 carnival…
The result which was announced in the wee hours of Friday, December 29th, 2023 inside the main bowl of Udokaha Jacob Esuene Stadium, Calabar saw Calas Vegas coming tops for the first time since formation.
Calas Vegas band managed by former Minister of Culture and Tourism, High Chief Edem Duke is one of the bands created last year alongside Diamond Band.
The 2nd position went to Passion 4 which has dominated the competition since 2006, while the 3rd position went to Seagull Band.
