Two days of meaningful conversations, shared perspectives and collective ambition towards shaping Malaysia’s presence at COP31.

The Malaysia Pavilion COP31 Focus Group Discussion brought together representatives from government, industry, academia, civil society and the wider sustainability ecosystem to shape the direction of the Malaysia Pavilion. Through seven thematic clusters, participants identified key priorities and recommendations that support Malaysia’s national climate agenda while strengthening collaboration across sectors.

As the Focus Group Discussion concludes, the outcomes will guide the next phase of programme development, laying the foundation for a cohesive and impactful Malaysia Pavilion that reflects Malaysia’s climate priorities, progress and whole-of-nation commitment to climate action at COP31.

Day 2 of the Malaysia Pavilion COP31 Focus Group Discussion continues the momentum, moving from ideas towards refinement and action.

Building on the discussions from Day 1, participants are refining programme recommendations across the seven thematic clusters, while presentations from PETRONAS, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Global Tunikara and the thematic clusters will help shape a cohesive and impactful programme for the Malaysia Pavilion at COP31.

As the two-day Focus Group Discussion draws to a close, the collective recommendations will help shape the next phase of programme development, strengthening Malaysia's national agenda and showcasing the nation's climate priorities and progress on the global stage.

Day 1 of the Malaysia Pavilion COP31 Focus Group Discussion concluded with productive discussions across seven thematic clusters, bringing together stakeholders to shape Malaysia's programme and priorities for COP31.

Representatives from government, industry, academia and strategic partners deliberated on aligning programme content with Malaysia's national climate agenda and sustainable development priorities, while identifying opportunities to strengthen cross sector collaboration and showcase the nation's policies, innovations and solutions at COP31.

YBhg. Datuk Nor Yahati Awang, Deputy Secretary General (Environmental Sustainability), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), also participated in the discussions, reaffirming the importance of a whole of nation approach in advancing Malaysia's climate ambitions.

The insights and recommendations gathered will contribute to a cohesive and impactful Malaysia Pavilion that reflects Malaysia's commitment to climate action and strengthens the country's presence on the global stage.
