Malaysia Forest Fund (MFF), Yinson Holdings Berhad and the Pahang State Forestry Department have entered into a Conservation Agreement for the implementation of the Forest Conservation Certificate (FCC) Project: Forest Enrichment Planting Programme at the Chini Lake Biosphere Reserve, Pahang.
Through a contribution of RM193,515 from Yinson, Phase 1 of the project will be carried out across 10 hectares as part of a broader forest restoration initiative covering 20 hectares within the Chini Lake Biosphere Reserve.
This collaboration demonstrates how strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors can strengthen forest conservation, biodiversity protection and sustainable community development. The initiative also involves the Jakun Orang Asli community through the Buyback Guarantee Programme, creating socio-economic opportunities while encouraging active participation in long-term forest conservation efforts.
As the first corporate partner supporting the FCC project at Chini Lake, Yinson plays an important role in advancing a transparent, high-integrity and impact-driven conservation financing approach. The initiative aligns with Malaysiaโs aspirations for sustainable natural resource management and the long-term protection of critical ecosystems.
