Understanding your environmental impact is the first step to cutting back.

So before you do anything crazy (like get out of your chair), use a carbon calculator to break your footprint down into simple, easily-understandable categories.

Most carbon calculators, like these from My Footprint, World Wildlife Fund and The Nature Conservancy, also suggest simple changes in your daily routine that can shrink that footprint down to size.
