Hoy, mi familia y yo lamentamos profundamente el fallecimiento de mi querida tía/nina Luz Elena Grijalva. Su amor, bondad y fortaleza tocaron la vida de muchas personas, y su recuerdo permanecerá para siempre en nuestros corazones. Ella nunca ocupó redes para recordar mi cumpleaños.

Today, my family and I mourn the passing of my beloved Tia/Nina Luz Elena Grijalva. Her love, kindness, and strength touched the lives of so many, and her memory will remain in our hearts forever. She never needed social media to remember my birthday.

Last week, we had a wonderful morning celebrating Mother’s Day with the amazing members of the San Luis Senior Center at La Bodega 23 Mexican Modern Cantina.

Although celebrations are usually held at the senior center, everyone truly enjoyed getting out for this special field trip and spending time together in a different setting. A special thank you to “Estrella Norteño” for performing and making the morning even more memorable with great music and entertainment.

La semana pasada tuvimos una hermosa mañana celebrando el Día de las Madres con los increíbles miembros del San Luis Senior Center en La Bodega 23 Mexican Modern Cantina.

Aunque normalmente esta celebración se realiza en el centro de adultos mayores, todos disfrutaron mucho esta salida especial y la oportunidad de convivir en un ambiente diferente. Un agradecimiento especial a “Estrella Norteño” por su presentación y por llenar la mañana de música, alegría y grandes recuerdos.

Last week we had a night to remember at Gadsden School District No. 32! Our talented students lit up the stage with an incredible norteño group and Banda Sinaloense concert, showcasing the strength and pride of our music programs.

Thank you to all the families and community members who came out to support. Your presence makes moments like this possible. And a very special thank you to our honored guests, the San Luis Senior Center members, who truly made the evening unforgettable by filling the dance floor and celebrating alongside our students.

This is what community, culture, and education look like working together.

¡Una noche inolvidable en el Distrito Escolar Gadsden No. 32! Nuestros talentosos estudiantes brillaron en el escenario con un increíble concierto de música norteña y Banda Sinaloense, demostrando el orgullo y la calidad de nuestros programas musicales.

Gracias a todas las familias y miembros de la comunidad que nos acompañaron. Su apoyo hace posibles estos momentos. Y un agradecimiento muy especial a nuestros invitados de honor, los miembros del San Luis Senior Center, quienes hicieron la noche aún más especial al disfrutar y llenar la pista de baile junto a nuestros estudiantes.
