Positivo Projects

Positivo Projects Positivo is an NGO registered in Malawi using music and other cultural tools to break the silence on HIV and other sexual reproductive health issues.

Youths in Malawi make up over 60% of the national population, however access to HIV and family planning services is a huge challenge as health services are not youth friendly, while access to information amongst youths on HIV and SRH services is very difficult. Our methodologies are designed to boost youth involvement in the fight against HIV/AIDS

When HIV and AIDS appeared they seemed to come from nowhere, but genetics has told us when and where the virus first entered the human population

To all our friends and supporters we wish you a positive World AIDS Day. We call your attention to the fact that whilst the world is making progress in stopping the spread of HIV, there is still a great deal to do. Continue supporting efforts in Africa and remember the fight is far from won.

Congratulations to all the staff and students of Malikha CDSS who worked so hard to produce this great video. The youth created a powerful song in which they challenge the community to stop discrimination against people living with HIV, call for an end to harmful cultural practices and speak out against issues which keep girls from completing their education. Positivo welcomed a new member to the team for this project. Emily played a great part, especially in getting the girls to sing about the challenges they face in staying in school. A big thanks to SAT-Malawi for funding this project. Thanks also to Frighton the local Health worker, and CDYSE local CBO for all the support and local insight. Enjoy the video!

Some children from GIZ families joined in the fun too. Thanks to Menes and Keith who joined Positivo to make this project a success. Thanks also to all the staff at Denza primary.
