Meet the First NNNF Cash Customer Under the ASCENT Malawi Project
The Ngwee Ngwee Ngwee Fund (NNNF), under the ASCENT Malawi Project, is proud to introduce its first cash customer, Ms. Lufineti Wayilesi of Mwimba Village, Traditional Authority Malili, in Lilongwe Rural West.
Ms. Wayilesi, a hardworking single mother and owner of a small grocery shop, had been relying on a battery-powered torch to keep her business open after dark. Although she needed a solar home system to improve her business, she preferred not to purchase it on credit. Instead, she patiently saved until she could afford to buy the system outright.
Through Yellow/Perennial Holdings Limited, one of NNNF's participating organizations under the ASCENT Malawi Project, Ms. Wayilesi has now purchased and installed her solar home system, giving her access to clean, reliable, and affordable electricity.
The new solar home system has transformed her daily life and business. She can now extend her operating hours, serve more customers, improve security around her shop, and increase her income, creating better opportunities for herself and her family.
Ms. Wayilesi's story demonstrates that expanding access to modern energy is about much more than electricity - it is about unlocking economic opportunities, empowering entrepreneurs, and improving livelihoods. Through the ASCENT Malawi Project, the Ngwee Ngwee Ngwee Fund continues to make clean energy accessible to households and businesses across Malawi, helping communities build a more prosperous and sustainable future, one customer at a time.
