The U.S. Department of State: Bureau of African Affairs invites eligible applicants to apply for the U.S.-Africa Strategic Investment Program, which advances market-based, private sector-led growth across sub-Saharan Africa through two strategic focus areas: Critical Minerals Investment and Commercial Diplomacy Acceleration.

The program supports projects that strengthen the investment environment through transparent, competitive processes and promote sustainable economic growth while creating opportunities for high-quality U.S. and U.S.-aligned investment.
Statements of Interest for Window 1 are due August 21, 2026.

Through the Fulbright African Research Scholar Program, Dr. Kamanga, a Senior Lecturer at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources , conducted research at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, while Dr. Kapalamula, a Lecturer in LUANAR’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, conducted research at Michigan State University. 🇺🇸

💻👏 We continue to strengthen digital skills for Malawi Police Service officers.

In Mzuzu, the fifth and final cohort of women police officers successfully completed the Basic Computer Training Program at American Corner Mzuzu. Facilitated by International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumnus Allan Kanyundo, the training strengthened participants' practical computer skills to support their professional development and workplace effectiveness. In total, American Corner Mzuzu trained 127 female police officers.

Congratulations to all who successfully completed the AI Innovation for Youth training program at American Center Lilongwe! 🎉🤖

Over the past three months, participants strengthened their digital skills, explored the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, and developed innovative AI-powered solutions to real-world challenges. The program concluded with participants pitching their AI-driven projects before a panel of judges.

Thank you to YALI alumna Linda Chimwenje, and Women in AI Malawi members Nighe Gwaza, Kondwani Nyirongo, and Maria Mbamba for inspiring young innovators.

From riding the Ferris wheel at the Great American State Fair and enjoying live music and rodeo performances to celebrating under spectacular Fourth of July fireworks, the festivities honored the people, traditions, and values that have shaped the United States for 250 years.

✅ No parking is available on-site—please arrange your own parking.
✅ A refundable deposit of MWK 5,000,000 is required only to participate in bidding. Deposits must be made via EFT between July 27–29, 2026 (by 12:00 PM).
✅ Successful bidders must complete payment by August 5, 2026, and obtain MRA clearance before collecting their vehicle.

We are proud of Elyvin Nkhonjera Chawinga, a International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumna and precious minerals expert, who is using her IVLP experience to strengthen Malawi's mining sector by developing policy, expanding markets for gold, gemstones, and other minerals, and building international partnerships. She also supports hundreds of children in Rumphi District by providing learning resources that help them access quality education. 🇺🇸🇲🇼
