📚🇺🇸 Supporting English language teaching in 🇲🇼!
American Center Lilongwe, in collaboration with YALI Regional Leadership Center alumnus David Kadzira, hosted 15 teachers from public schools in Lilongwe for an introductory training on free English language teaching resources.
The teachers explored practical American educational tools and materials they can use to strengthen English teaching and support learning in their classrooms.

🌱🇺🇸🇲🇼 Turning research into solutions for Malawi!

The Fulbright Program Foreign Student awardee Chimwemwe Yona is gaining hands-on research experience in the United States, exploring sustainable ways to tackle bacterial wilt, a crop disease affecting farmers in Malawi and globally.

Beyond the lab, Chimwemwe is learning from and connecting with U.S. agricultural experts and exploring precision agriculture techniques that could help Malawian farmers improve yields, reduce pesticide use, and support agricultural commercialization.

📚 🇺🇸 Strengthening academic research excellence in 🇲🇼!
The Fulbright Program U.S. Scholar Dr. Joni Roberts conducted an academic research writing workshop at for master’s students from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Through the workshop, she shared her expertise to strengthen students’ research writing skills and their ability to build strong, evidence-based academic work.
Dr. Roberts is in Malawi conducting research and teaching at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences in Blantyre.

For Blessings Walawala, preserving Malawi's cultural heritage is more than a profession, it is a commitment. As Deputy Director for Conservation in the Department of Museums and Monuments, he is leading efforts to protect the country's cultural treasures. An International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumnus, Blessings applied lessons from his exchange experience to help develop a national framework for managing and protecting monuments and heritage sites. He built partnerships with U.S.-based institutions to advance digital technologies for documenting and preserving cultural heritage, helping share Malawi's rich history and culture with the world.
