Imbombo ya bulimi bwa konelela kwa Nthola uko kwa Mwenilondo bulondiwa iboma ukuti libombepo simo ukuti abandu baleke ukulindilila ikyulu kisita mbulika.

Umwisyugu nali nulusako ubuka ukwakuketa mumo imbombo iyi yiyilile palikimo nikambala ilyasya bulimi.

Syakitima ukuketa imbombo iyi bososola nindalama isi boyoba ukuti singile pambombo iyi. Sikunangisya ukuti imbombo yitikuya paumalika.

Ndisumile iboma ukwendela kulikabambala ilyasya bulimi ukuti libombepo simo, linga abene bikuya poketelela, imbombo iyi yikuya pakufwa.

Uyu alyansisye imbombo iyi undongosi unkulu wakisu iki Umpisi Bingu wa Muthatika, injosi syake isyakukasya ubulimi sikuya pakufwa itolo.

My people am very touched and concerned with the preliminary findings by the National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) that operations by Coal and Minerals Group (CMG) are polluting Kasantha and Changwina rivers in the area of Traditional Authority Kilupula in Karonga.

Currently am asking relevant authorities to close the operation of the company if findings proves that its against the mining, environmental and water resources laws.

The government should intervene and contain the situation to avoid my people and the environment to suffer while investors benefit.

Am told again that the company is failing to invest in corporate social responsibility, citing poor conditions of schools, roads and other infrastructure in the area of operation.

My people, let us work together and audit all companies operating in our two districts if they comply to the mining laws and compliance to social and corporate responsibility they signed.

First l want to commend Karonga District Council for organising the first-ever validation meeting. You have demonstrated transparency and inclusiveness in development planning.

Me being a Chief the K5 billion Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocated by the government to each constituency, is a rare opportunity capable of transforming the district Karonga and other districts in Malawi once properly utilised.

I believethat the money will transform this country in terms of infrastructure and service delivery mainly if properly managed.

It is my plea that those involved should wisely and sustainably think for the development that will help to change the face of the district.

Let us unite and work together regardless of our political differences in building this nation by laying a strong foundation for long-term development using this funding.

But for this again to happen the council need to ensure sustainable use of the funds, observing that districts cannot depend on central government support forever.

Tungabyalaga itolo umma loli tuyipakikisye ukuti yikule kanunu.

Une ne malafyale gwinu, umwisyugu, mbalongolile pambombo yakubyala ifipiki, yiyo yibombigwe pasukulu ya pulayimale ya Chilambilo.

Ukuti ifipiki fikule kanunu fyulondigwa ukuti fiketesigwege nukweseleligwa kanunu.

Kwa Karonga kuno tukwgana nindamyo inyingi isya kwanduka kwa kabalilo. Ulumu, ukuteka kwa nyisi ninine. Indamyo isi sikwisa papo tutumwile fiyo ifipiki.

Ngubasuma kangi ukuti polondiwa kangi ukuti tubombelege amaka ga magesi, ulumu nifingi linga tukulonda ukupiya upagula imbabu.
Nifula yope yikutamya ukutima papo ikisu kisyele lungalangala kisota fipiki. Unko umundu wesa abyaleko ifipiki ikinja iki pabuyo bwake.

This week, me and my fellow Board of Directors of the Northern Region Water Board (NRWB) we were being oriented marking the start of our journey in providing strategic leadership and strengthening corporate governance at the Board.

We have taken the Oath of Office, followed by comprehensive briefings on NRWB’s mandate, governance framework, service areas, and the key water supply challenges and strategic priorities affecting the Northern Region.

As the Board Chairperson, I have told them that we bring diverse expertise and fresh perspectives to help guide the Board in enhancing water service delivery and operational efficiency in the Northern Region.

I have also toldthem that we are aware of the numerous challenges the Board is facing, which are also impacting service delivery to our customers.

The only way to progress is to remain committed to delivering reliable, safe and sustainable water services to all customers across the Northern.

Let us all work together for the betterment of the nation.
