APM has directed that a fresh inquest on the plane crash that killed Chilima and eight June 11, 2024 that Chilima and eight others died in a plane crash in Chikangawa. Ironically, the alleged plane crash happened at a time when Chakwera declared that he will contest in the 2025 Presidential elections, contrary to what was agreed between him and Chilima. According to the agreement, Chakwera agreed to support Chilima's candidature in the September 2025 polls.

Vitumbiko is trying all means to fight the will of the people. He is using his Times proxy, Wonder Msiska, who has forced the Times production team to stop showing results on their dashboard so that they can manipulate the figures. We know how much money Wonder Msiska pocketed and the job he was promised by MCP in order to push their illegitimate narrative. This is why he has been attacking his colleagues, Brian Banda and Cathy Maulidi, during election commentary when they were updating Malawians about H. E Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika leading.

The good thing is that Times has already given Malawians the true picture of how elections are going, and no one will overturn that. We will not allow Mumba to use his sponsored journalists to push a fake narrative as a way of stopping the will of the people.

We are here monitoring everything, including media houses colluding with a soon-to-be fugitive Mumba who is desperately trying to undermine the people’s choice.

Our warning to all bought journalists is clear: you will not use your media platforms to mislead Malawians. The people have spoken, and their choice must be respected.

We have received credible intel from Chakwera’s own State House that some misguided MCP officials are planning to hold a press briefing this morning to reject the election results and falsely claim that the opposition has rigged the elections. What is shocking and disgraceful is that results from all opposition strongholds have already been delivered to the MEC National Tally Centre, yet it is in the MCP strongholds where results are still being withheld by controlling officers as they desperately try to inflate figures in a bid to make Chakwera win the elections illegitimately.

THE PEOPLE'S WILL IS PROTECTED

Our message is that we all remain calm and collected. At this stage, we are simply waiting for the Malawi Electoral Commission to conclude its formal process of announcing the results.

We want to assure all Malawians that your votes have been fully safeguarded and their integrity remains intact. Key stakeholders such as SADC, AU, EU, Government intelligence, the Malawi Defence Force, the Malawi Police, and the wider donor community have closely monitored this process. We also thank both international and local observers for ensuring transparency by maintaining representation in every polling station. Equally, we commend journalists for their vigilance in keeping the public informed in real time. This combined effort, reinforced by our security agencies, has made it impossible for anyone to tamper with results that are already in the public domain.

Finally, we call upon all Malawians to remain calm and patient. Victory is on the way, and together we shall celebrate it. All critical stakeholders are fully aware of the true outcome of this election, and no one will be allowed to undermine the will of the people who actively participated from registration and verification to the casting of their votes. We sincerely thank our security agencies for protecting the vote and ensuring that the will of civilians is respected. These stakeholders remain committed to defending the democracy Malawians fought for in 1994 and will make sure that the people’s choice is honored and preserved.
