Santa Marija Tower - Din l-Art Helwa Tower in Comino built in 1618 by GrandMaster Wignacourt - providing defence and communication between the Cittadella in Gozo and Mdina.

The Tower is open when the flag is flying! Come and visit and enjoy the stunning view!

Great news everyone! The tower is opening its doors again starting Sunday 15th, from 10:00 to 15:00!
Just look up — if the flag is flying, we’re open! 🏰✨

🌿 Sea Squill at a Glance ( Ghansar)

- Scientific Name: Drimia maritima
- Native Region: Mediterranean, including Malta
- Habitat: Dry coastal areas, rocky soils, garigue

🌼 Key Features
- Grows from a large underground bulb
- Produces tall flower spikes with hundreds of white blooms in late summer
- Leaves appear in spring, die back before flowering

🐝 Ecological Role
- Attracts bees, wasps, and other pollinators
- Helps prevent soil erosion in coastal zones

- Historically used in herbal medicine and as rat poison
