As of 11:30 a.m., the Office of the Governor and the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM), in consultation with the National Weather Service (NWS Guam) Weather Forecast Office (WFO), has declared Typhoon Condition III for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
Typhoon Condition III means that typhoon conditions, including winds of 74 MPH or more, are possible within 48 hours.
Tropical Storm Sinlaku (04W) continues to organize north-northwest of Chuuk and is moving west-northwest. It is expected to maintain this track over the next 24 to 36 hours before gradually increasing in forward speed. Forecast models show a narrowing track spread, though slight shifts north or south remain possible over the next 12 to 24 hours.
The Marianas should prepare for potential tropical storm- to typhoon-force winds, with tropical storm-force winds most likely around Monday. For the far Northern Islands, breezy and hazardous marine conditions are expected late this weekend into early next week, with possible tropical storm-force winds by Tuesday.
Information on shelters, transportation, CHCC services, schools, and government offices will be announced later.
