🇫🇷 MAISON DE FORCE D’AMBALATAVOAHANGY – TOAMASINA
Ce vendredi 4 septembre 2026, à 8 h 45mn, trois détenus ont tenté de s’évader de la Maison de Force d’Ambalatavoahangy, à Toamasina.
Deux des détenus ont été interpellés, tandis que le troisième est parvenu à prendre la fuite. Un avis de recherche a immédiatement été émis à son encontre, en coordination avec les forces de l’ordre locales.
Selon les premiers éléments du rapport, les détenus auraient utilisé une échelle appartenant à une entreprise intervenant actuellement dans des travaux de réhabilitation au sein de l’établissement pénitentiaire pour mettre à exécution leur tentative d’évasion.
Lors de l’opération d’interpellation, l’un des détenus a été atteint par b***e aux fesses. Malgré les soins médicaux appropriés qui lui ont été prodigués, il n’a malheureusement pas survécu à ses blessures. Le second détenu, quant à lui, a également été appréhendé.
Les responsables au sein de l’Administration pénitentiaire ont d’ores et déjà pris des mesures strictes. Les recherches et les opérations visant à retrouver le détenu toujours en fuite se poursuivent sans relâche, en collaboration avec les forces de l’ordre.
Une enquête est également en cours afin de déterminer les circonstances exactes de cette tentative d’évasion.

🇬🇧 AMBALATAVOAHANGY PRISON – TOAMASINA
This Friday, September 4, 2026, at 8:45 a.m., three inmates attempted to escape from Ambalatavoahangy Prison in Toamasina.
Two of the inmates were apprehended, while the third managed to escape. A wanted notice was immediately issued for the fugitive, in coordination with the local law enforcement authorities.
According to the initial report, the inmates used a ladder belonging to a company currently carrying out renovation work within the prison premises to carry out their escape attempt.
During the arrest operation, one of the inmates sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks. Despite receiving the necessary medical treatment, he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The second inmate has also been apprehended.
The prison authorities have immediately taken strict measures. Search and apprehension operations for the inmate still at large are continuing without interruption, in close coordination with the local law enforcement authorities.
An investigation is also underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this attempted escape
