We receive donations of books in every language and on every conceivable subject, which we sell at the Bazaar and at other events throughout the year. Most of our books – both paperback and hardcover – are sold at rock-bottom prices but, as our reputation has grown, we have also been lucky enough to receive books of great beauty and historical importance, some dating back to the 18th century. We r

aise extra money by selling these to collectors and dealers and, sometimes, even at auction. All profits from The Book Stand go to the International Bazaar, which yearly distributes funds to about 100 small-project charities, mainly in the developing world. Each charity is carefully vetted, and contact is maintained to ensure that the money does real good. Last year, 600,000 euros was disbursed to 98 charities. 20,000 euros of that was raised by the Book Stand.
