Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) National Youth League Statement

For Immediate Release

May 11, 2026

Monrovia, Liberia

Together We Stand for a Better Liberia

The National Youth League of the Orange Revolution, Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), vehemently demands the immediate release of Comrade Garyeazohn Aba Davies, the National Vice Chairman of Inter-Party and NEC Affairs of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Youth League. He was unjustly imprisoned solely for expressing support for the honorable former Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweh during a politically charged court trial on May 8, 2026. This repressive action is not merely a strike against one individual, but a savage attack on the rights of all Liberian youth, whose voices must not be silenced!

The recent unjust court ruling that sentenced Comrade Davies to 30 days of imprisonment for alleged contempt of court is a blatant attempt to stifle dissent and intimidate those who dare stand against a failing regime. The tactics employed by the government of Joseph Nyumah are nothing short of sophistry meant to suppress the power of youth-led initiatives aimed at nurturing a vibrant, democratic society. We demand his immediate release to avert any escalatory actions from national opposition youth political bodies in Liberia.

Furthermore, we express our unwavering support for the unjustly expelled Montserrado District 10 Representive Yekeh Kolubah, who recently faced a cowardly and disgraceful attack during a political tour in Ganta. We strongly condemn this blatant act of political violenceโ€”a harbinger of the rising tide of intolerance that threatens the very fabric of our democracy under the Boakai-Koung administration. This incident represents a grievous assault not just on a Hon. Kolubah, but on the principles of democratic engagement, free movement, and the constitutional rights of all Liberians.

The growing campaign of intimidation and lawlessness under the current administration is unacceptable. We stand united with the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) which comprises of the mighty Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), the insurmountable orange revolution, Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) and other political bodies in declaring a zero-tolerance policy toward such acts of aggression. Violence tolerated today is a pathway to instability tomorrow. We are resolute in our commitment to resist any attempts to suppress our democratic voice through intimidation or mob violence.

No corner of Liberia is owned by political entities; Liberia belongs to all Liberians. Our constitutional rights grant us the freedom to engage in peaceful political activities, unrestricted by the machinations of those who wish to exert control through fear. We call upon all young Liberians to rise above the culture of violence that has marred our country.

Young Liberians have long been undermined by those meant to uplift them. As the National Youth League of MOVEE, we pledge to engage critically with our peers as we always do, to ensure that we learn from our past and steer away from the shackles of violence. We will expose anyone attempting to sow discord, as such actions have no place in contemporary Liberia.

We urge the international community, including the United Nations, the Economic Community of West African States, and the African Union, alongside civil society organizations, religious leaders, student groups, and the media, to monitor these dangerous developments closely. We will not be silent; we will not be intimidated; and together, we will forge a better future for all Liberians.

Let us stand together for a brighter, more inclusive Liberia!

Signed:

Prince Me-Too Woart
National Youth League Secretary General, MOVEE

Victory Statement from the National Youth League of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE)

December 17, 2025

In a moment that will echo through the ages, the National Youth League of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) proudly announces a monumental victory! On December 16, 2025, our exceptional candidate, Mr. Jeremiah Edison Paye, the National Secretary General of MOVEE, has taken a historic stride by securing the position of IPCC Project Officer with an impressive 74 votes against his nearest rival, who garnered 34, in the Inter-party Consultative Committee (IPCC) First Convention held in Gbarnga, B**g County. This triumph is a clear reflection of the strong bond we share with the Liberian people and their unwavering belief in our shared vision for a prosperous and empowered nation.

This success stands as a testament to the outstanding leadership and strategic foresight of our High Esteemed and Dedicated Political Leader and Standard Bearer, H. E. Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Former Foreign Minister and Dean of Cabinet ministers of the Republic of Liberia; our Dynamic National Chairman, Hon. Prince G. Mehn, and the entire National Executive Committee (NEC) of MOVEE. Your relentless dedication and principled guidance have illuminated the path to this extraordinary achievement. We express our deepest gratitude for your tireless commitment to championing the causes of economic empowerment, education, health, agriculture, and the comprehensive development of our citizenry.

As we step into this critical role within the Inter-party Consultative Committee (IPCC), we pledge to uphold the principles of effective project management, robust program monitoring, and critical evaluation. Each initiative we undertake will be marked by timely reporting and open communication, leveraging our diverse skills to navigate challenges and seize opportunities. United under the MOVEE banner, we will amplify the voices of the Liberian people and lead the charge toward sustained economic empowerment and development.

This victory is not solely ours; it belongs to every Liberian who dares to dream of a brighter tomorrow. We extend a heartfelt invitation to all citizens to join hands with MOVEE as we embark on this transformative journey together. Let us lay the foundations of opportunity where every Liberian can thrive, nurturing innovation in business, advancing educational paths, and promoting community health.

As we celebrate this profound milestone, we urge every citizen to recognize the intrinsic power within themselves and harness our collective strength. With MOVEE blazing the trail, we are destined to overcome obstacles and reach new heights.

Together, we will forge a future filled with promise!

Subject: Reaffirmed the Joint Press Statement of the Four Opposition Political Parties and Demand for a Thorough Investigation into Fire Incident at STAND's Headquarters

The National Youth League of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) stands in unwavering solidarity with Solidarity for Trust and A New Day (STAND) and its dedicated leader, Mr. Mulbah K. Morlu, Jr. We are deeply alarmed and disturbed by the tragic fire incident that engulfed the headquarters of STAND early Thursday morning. This incident not only poses an existential threat to a vital civil society organization but also raises serious concerns about the safety and security of those who dare to advocate for democracy and accountability within our cherished Republic of Liberia.

In light of the accusations from Mr. Morlu regarding potential foul play, the National Youth League reaffirmed the joint press statement released by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of MOVEE along with the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), Alternative National Congress (ANC) and Citizens Movement for Change (CMC); the National Youth League of MOVEE condemned the "Arson Attack on STAND" and demands that the Government of the Republic of Liberia, under the leadership of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, launch a full-scale investigation into this matter. The gravity of the situation cannot be overstated; this fire incident may signal an attempt to stifle dissent, suppress the voices of justice and transparency, and thwart the critical constitutional reforms that STAND has been diligently advocating for.

Civil society organizations are the backbone of any thriving democracy. They play a crucial role in holding governments accountable and empowering citizens' rights. The actions and policies of the Boakai-Koung Administration must reflect an unwavering commitment to nurturing this democratic principle rather than undermining it through intimidation and fear-mongering.

The Liberian National Fire and Rescue Service must prioritize this investigation to ascertain whether this fire was indeed an accident or an orchestrated act of violence aimed at enforcing silence among those who dare to challenge the status quo. The voice of the people must not be silenced, and the push for a December 17, 2025 protest led by STAND is not merely an event; it is a call to action for all Liberians who believe in justice, accountability, and the rule of law.

We unequivocally reject any attempts by this government to create an environment of fear that inhibits civic engagement. Instead, we encourage all citizens to rally behind the values of freedom and democracy. As the National Youth League of MOVEE, we assert that the forthcoming investigation must be transparent, thorough, and inclusive, ensuring that all findings are made public and that those accountable are brought to justice.

In conclusion, we call upon all Liberians to remain vigilant and united in our quest for a stronger democracy. It is our collective responsibility to safeguard the rights of one another and uphold the fundamental principles that define our nation. We urge President Boakai and his administration to demonstrate leadership by prioritizing justice and accountability in this wake of uncertainty.

Let us stand together for a New Day.
