CDC Appoints Janjay Baikpeh as New Grand Bassa County Chairman
BUCHANAN, GRAND BASSA COUNTY October 25, 2025:
The opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has appointed former Grand Bassa County Superintendent Hon. Janjay Baikpeh as the new chairman of the party’s Grand Bassa County Chapter, replacing outgoing chairman Moses Bryant .
The announcement was made by the National Executive Committee of the CDC, led by National Chairman Atty.Janga Augustus Kowo, during a well-attended gathering of partisans on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Bassa Governor’s Office in Buchanan.
Following the announcement of Hon. Baikpeh’s appointment, the hall erupted in jubilation as CDC partisans celebrated the leadership change.
In his remarks, Chairman Atty.Janga Augustus Kowo urged all CDC members, supporters, and sympathizers to remain steadfast in promoting the party’s manifesto regardless of prevailing challenges.
Meanwhile, newly appointed County Chairman Janjay Baikpeh called on all members of the party to unite and reconcile their differences.
He extended apologies to anyone he may have offended in the past and likewise forgave those who might have wronged him.
Hon. Baikpeh also announced plans for a major cleanup exercise next month on the party’s newly acquired land in Grand Bassa County.
He assured National Chairman Kowo that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bassa County CDC project will be bigger than that of Montserrado County.
Other officials appointed during the ceremony include:
H. LA Voltee Ndorleh – Vice Chairman for Administration
Hon. James Yanquoi Beyan – Vice Chairman for Operations (former Buchanan City Manager)
Hon. Flee Glay – Vice Chairman for Planning and Strategies
Wilfred Dougblor Myers – Secretary General
Pastor Frank Watson – Chaplain
Mr. Joseph Daniel – Head of the Elders Council
Former Chairman Moses Bryant was also named Regional Chairman for Grand Bassa and Rivercess Counties.
The newly appointed leadership has been tasked with strengthening the party’s unity and rebuilding its structures across Grand Bassa County.
