CDC PAYS SOLEMN TRIBUTE TO IDEOLOGICAL COMPATRIOT COMRADE JANJAY BAIKPEH, PREPARES FOR THE RETURN OF H.E. PRESIDENT GEORGE MANNEH WEAH, CONVENES OPPOSITION LEADERS’ ROUNDTABLE, AND CONDEMNS PRESIDENT BOAKAI’S DISHONEST AND NEFARIOUS SPEECH

Monrovia, Liberia – The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) begins this statement with profound sorrow and a solemn tribute to the memory of Revolutionary Comrade Janjay Baikpeh, a fallen Blue Warrior whose unwavering loyalty, courage and dedicated service strengthened the revolutionary foundation of the CDC.

SOLEMN TRIBUTE TO MARTYR JANJAY BAIKPEH

Comrade Janjay Baikpeh was more than a partisan. He was a committed revolutionary, dependable leader and fearless defender of the values and political aspirations of the CDC.

Until his passing, he served as Chairman of the CDC Grand Bassa County Chapter. He previously served as National Vice Chairman for Operations of the Revolutionary National Youth League and, 2023 Senatorial candidate for Grand Bassa County. And in the Liberian government, he was Superintendent of Grand Bassa County during the CDC administration.

In every position entrusted to him, Comrade Baikpeh demonstrated loyalty, discipline, courage and an unshakable commitment to the CDC and the Liberian people. His passing is a painful loss to his family, the resilience people of Grand Bassa County and the entire CDC revolutionary movement.
Again, the National Executive Committee extends its deepest condolences to his bereaved family, comrades, friends and the people of Grand Bassa County. His sacrifices and revolutionary service will remain permanently engraved in the history of the CDC.

All activities marking the transition and homegoing of Martyr Janjay Baikpeh will take place in Grand Bassa County. The Special Committee headed by Dr. Bhofal Chambers will lead and coordinate the CDC’s participation in all activities associated with his dignified transition.

Rest well, Revolutionary Comrade Janjay Baikpeh. Your struggle, service and sacrifices will never be forgotten.

RETURN OF H.E. GEORGE MANNEH WEAH

The Political Leader of the CDC and former President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency George Manneh Weah, will return to Liberia on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

The National Executive Committee has constituted a Special Steering Committee, chaired by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers, to organize a reception for the former President.

The committee is empowered to establish subcommittees and undertake all necessary activities to enhance its work. All CDC lawmakers, including Representatives and Senators, are members of the committee.

OPPOSITION LEADERS’ ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, leaders of Liberia’s opposition community will gather at the Jamaica Resort in Paynesville for an Opposition Leaders’ Roundtable Discussion.

The National Executive Committee has designated Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Liberia’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, to lead and coordinate the Opposition Leaders’ Roundtable Discussion, which will be presided over by His Excellency George Manneh Weah.

The engagement will provide opposition leaders with an opportunity to discuss Liberia’s political, economic, security and governance challenges and strengthen cooperation in defense of democracy, constitutional governance and national accountability.

CDC CONDEMNS PRESIDENT BOAKAI’S DISHONEST AND NEFARIOUS SPEECH

The CDC strongly condemns President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s August 26, 2026 national address concerning the rule of law, as dishonest and nefarious. Jojo Boakai, the son of President Joseph Boakai who was publicly named in a video by the co***ne cartel continues to walk scout free without accountability while the national security infrastructure has been infiltrated, seized, and operated by the co***ne cartel. President Boakai has also failed to take action against notable government officials, including Police Inspector General, Gregory Coleman, under whose command the 3,971KG of Co***ne was escorted by the Liberia National Police.

Therefore, President Boakai speech on the the rule of law is a mockery of democratic and constitutional governance- given his persistent violations of both statutory and constitutional law, and his disregard to Liberia Supreme Court rulings.

In this regard, the CDC further calls for an independent investigation into transnational drug trafficking in Liberia, including allegations of cartel pe*******on of state and national security institutions. Such an investigation must be credible, impartial and free from political interference.

The Liberian people deserve truth, accountability and equal justice—not selective prosecution, political intimidation or speeches intended to conceal the government’s failure to confront Liberia’s growing co***ne crisis.

A compromised national security apparatus cannot investigate itself!

My fellow partisans of the Mighty Congress for Democratic Change, fellow Liberians!

I bring you greetings from my dear wife, Madam Clar Marie Weah. Yesterday, we celebrated 33 years of marriage which coincides with the 22nd Anniversary of our great movement, the Congress for Democratic Change. What a beautiful day.

I would like to thank the great people of Grand Gedeh County for hosting the CDC in your beautiful county and for all the support over the years.
I also want to use this opportunity to thank all the leaders of other political parties who joined us today to celebrate the historic founding of our movement. Let me thank the following Political Leaders for their solidarity today: Mr. Alexander Cummings of the ANC, Musa Hassan Bility of the CMC, Mr. Benoni Urey of the ALP, Mr. Simeon Freeman of the MPC, Mr. Dee-Maxwell Kemayah of MOVEE, Senator Thomas Yaya Nimely, former Justice Minister Kabineh Ja’neh, Former Finance Minister Amara Konneh along with other dignitaries. Your presence in Zwedru proves that political leaders who seek the best interest of Liberia can and must work together.

I also extend a special thanks to Madam Jewel Howard-Taylor, former Vice President of Liberia and Standard Bearer of the NPP for her strong statement of support issued today.

Today, I speak to you with a heart full of gratitude, pride, and determination. Twenty-two years ago, a movement was born.
Not in the corridors of power.
Not among the wealthy and privileged.
It was born in the hearts of ordinary people - in forgotten communities, among market women, students, motorcyclists, farmers, workers, and young people who demanded to be heard.

Twenty-two years ago, Liberians of every stripe stood up and declared: this country belongs to all of us. That declaration became the Congress for Democratic Change. The CDC was never just a political party. It was - and remains - a revolution of hope: a movement of ordinary people determined to do extra-ordinary things.
The CDC proved that every Liberian, regardless of status, can dare to pursue their dreams.

Fellow Liberians, I have been privileged to lead this great movement. As you know, my story is shared by the vast majority of Liberians. I was not born into privilege. I was not born into political power. George Weah is an ordinary Liberian child with extraordinary dreams, sharing the same struggles as millions of our people.

When the CDC embraced me, it was because this movement embodies a core belief: that leadership should not be inherited - it must be earned. That is why the journey from the slum to the Presidency was never about George Weah. It was about the market woman. It was about the struggling family. It was about the young person seeking an opportunity. That is why the priority of my presidency was to lift ordinary people out of poverty through the construction of roads, market buildings, housing units in poor communities, and making education affordable and accessible. These and many more we achieved in spite of huge challenges.

When I walked into the Executive Mansion, millions of Liberians walked through that door with me. That is the story of the CDC. That is our legacy. That is our pride.

My fellow partisans, twenty-two years ago, they laughed at us. They mocked us. They underestimated us. We proved them wrong. Together, we have built the most powerful grassroots political movement in Liberia. Together, we have changed our country's political history. Together, we have achieved what many believed impossible. And yet, much remains to be done - and together, we can do it.

My fellow Liberians, Today, our country faces difficult challenges. Across Liberia, our people are asking questions. They were promised rescue. They were promised transformation. Now we see how that promise was grounded in deceit. Families are struggling. Young people and entire communities have been forgotten. Businesses are closing. Hardship has taken over the land. The gap between political promises and the reality we face is stark. These are legitimate concerns - and the Liberian people deserve answers.

We again thank all opposition political parties and civil society institutions that have honored our invitation to celebrate this great occasion with us. You are our brothers and partners on this journey. We are grateful for your presence.
The CDC, as a responsible member of the opposition community, will continue to hold the government accountable. We will continue to defend our democracy as we witness signs of our dark past reemerging. The Unity party government, led by Joseph Boakai is rolling back our democratic gains. Political opponents, specifically former officials are being persecuted, free speech is being trampled upon while the security forces engage in brutality against peaceful citizens.
Mr. Boakai has undermined rule of law, refusing to abide by rulings of the Supreme Court, threatening judges into submission to toe the line of the executive branch.
National security has been compromised with foreign troops occupying Liberia’s sovereign territory while the regime has proven top be unable to find solutions to the border encroachment in Lofa county. Security forces are not being used to protect the state, but to brutalize peaceful citizens and destroy their homes.
Liberia has turned into a narco state with officials leading the drug trafficking network being shielded by the UP administration as they are themselves a part of the government itself.

We must continue to stand with the Liberian people. My fellow partisans, guests, and fellow Liberians, there are those who believed that we were finished. They said our best days were behind us. To them, I say: look around. Look around Zwedru. Look around Grand Gedeh. Look across Liberia. Look at the multitudes who still believe in our cause.
A movement built by the people cannot be destroyed by propaganda.
A movement built on hope cannot be defeated by temporary setbacks.
A movement rooted in the hearts of ordinary Liberians cannot disappear.
The CDC is alive. The CDC is united. The CDC is organized. The CDC is energized. And the CDC is coming back to power. We are here today not only to celebrate the past, but to prepare for the future. Today marks the beginning of the next chapter -a chapter of renewal, a chapter of reorganization, a chapter of victory.

The road to 2029 begins today.
I call upon every CDCian, the opposition community, and Liberians in general to rise and prepare for the political battle ahead. This is not the time for division. This is not the time for complacency. This is the time for mobilization. A time to march forward. Let the message leave Zwedru today and travel across every county, every district, every town, every village!

May God bless the Congress for Democratic Change.

And may God bless the Republic of Liberia.

CALL TO ALL AUXILIARIES ON THE OCCASION OF THE 22ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE CDC AND MILITANTS MONTH

The National Auxiliaries Network extends revolutionary greetings to all auxiliaries, militants, revolutionary fighters, and political paratroopers of the CDC on the occasion of the party’s 22nd anniversary and the observance of Militants Month.

As we commemorate this historic milestone, we call on all auxiliaries across the movement to reflect on the sacrifices, struggles, and commitment that have sustained the CDC for the past twenty-two years. This period serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to preserve the ideals and principles of the revolution.

We also take this moment to honor and remember the great soldiers of the struggle who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the cause. We remember comrades such as Papie Solo, Morris Kormah, Joshua, Tamba Momo, and many others whose courage, loyalty, and dedication continue to inspire us today.

Their sacrifices shall never be forgotten, and their memories will remain an enduring part of the history of the CDC.

CDC EXPELS THREE DISSIDENT COLLABORATORS
The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) announces the immediate expulsion of the following

Unity Party dissident collaborators:

• Senator Zoe E. Pennue
• Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala
• Rep. Samson Weah- Sinoe County District Two (2)

Their expulsions are due to actions deemed disloyal and in violation of Sections 38, 39, 41(A), 42,
44, 45. 46, and Section 47 of the party’s constitution-
Section 47 States: Membership in CDC may cease by:

1. Written or Verbal Withdrawal
2. Constructive withdrawal by open declaration of transfer of loyalty to another
political party
3. Expulsion endorsed by the NEC or Death

This EXPULSION action is a direct response to nearly 18 months of conducts that the CDC
considers damaging to the party’s interests and in violation of its Constitution and Bylaws.

These individuals have used public platforms to denigrate the CDC and have aligned themselves with the Unity Party government, which the CDC believes does not uphold the values of good governance.

The CDC does not condone such actions and affirms that these individuals are no longer affiliated
with the party.

They have chosen their path, one of reputational ruin and historical insignificance. The damage
inflicted by their treacherous conduct is a stain upon their own legacies if there are any.

These expulsions are lessons to any would-be deviants purporting to be members of Mighty CDC. By
their deviant and anti-CDC conducts, these expelled individuals have absolutely ties with the
CDC as they are delinquent in every definition of political party membership.

The CDC cautions the public not to do business with these expelled individuals in the name of the
CDC as anyone engaging with these party deviants does so at their own risks and peril.

CDC remains committed to its people-centered principles and will continue to move forward as
we prepare to unseat the failed Unity party government in 2029.
