After nearly 21 years of service, we say a heartfelt farewell to our driver, Mr. Ernest Youpre King. To honor his long-standing loyalty and commitment, Ambassador Carsten Hölscher presented him with a certificate of recognition and a traditional Liberian cloth. Mr. King will retire at the end of this month, and he will be greatly missed by the entire team of the German Embassy.

On May 19, 2026, the Embassy of Germany in Liberia welcomed students of Notre Dame University-Liberia for an engaging and insightful courtesy visit focused on diplomacy, international relations, and the longstanding bilateral relationship between Liberia and Germany.

During the interactive session, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Jakob Haselhuber shared valuable experiences from his diplomatic journey, highlighting the importance of education, perseverance, mentorship, patriotism, and cultural understanding in diplomacy. The Ambassador also provided students with a historical overview of Liberia-Germany relations dating back to 1855 and discussed Germany’s continued cooperation and development support to Liberia.

The meeting further featured an engaging question-and-answer session where students discussed diplomacy, international cooperation, regional politics, visa processes, and the challenges faced by diplomats. The Embassy appreciates the students and faculty of Notre Dame University-Liberia for the visit and for the meaningful exchange of ideas.
