استقبال السيد السفير/ أحمد عبد العظيم، سفير جمهورية مصر العربية في مونروفيا للمفتي الأكبر لجمهورية ليبيريا والأمين العام للمجلس الوطني لمسلمي ليبيريا.

استقبل السيد السفير/ أحمد عبد العظيم، سفير جمهورية مصر العربية في مونروفيا، كل من الشيخ/ Abdullah Kromah المفتي الأكبر لجمهورية ليبيريا والشيخ/ Abraham Fumbah Sherif الأمين العام للمجلس الوطني لمسلمي ليبيريا والوفد المرافق لهما، حيث أعرب المفتي العام عن تقديره العميق للدور التاريخي الذي تضطلع به مصر والأزهر الشريف في تقديم الدعم لمسلمي ليبيريا ونشر قيم الاعتدال والوسطية، وبما يعزز من الروابط الأخوية بين مصر وليبيريا ويسهم في نشر ثقافة التسامح والسلام، كما أكد الأمين العام للمجلس الوطني لمسلمي ليبيريا على أهمية الدورات والمنح المقدمة من الدولة المصرية للطلبة الليبيريين للدراسة في الأزهر الشريف وفي الجامعات والمعاهد المصرية، مشيراَ إلى تطلعه لتوسيع نطاق التعاون بين الجانبين ليشمل، إلى جانب المنح المقدمة للطلبة الليبيريين، إبتعاث أساتذة وشيوخ من الأزهر الشريف لتدريس اللغة وعلوم الفقه والشريعة.

من جانبه، أكد السيد السفير على استعداد الدولة المصرية لمواصلة تقديم الدعم اللازم لمسلمي ليبيريا وإتاحة المزيد من البرامج التدريبية والعمل على تذليل أي عقبات قد تواجه الطلبة الليبيريين للدراسة في مصر، وبما يسهم في تعزيز كفاءة المتدربين الليبيريين ويمكنهم من الاستفادة بشكل كامل من المنح الدراسية المقدمة من الأزهر الشريف والجامِعات المصرية، ومنوهاً إلى أن الدعم المقدم من الدولة المصرية يأتي انطلاقاً من المسئولية النابعة من التزام مصر الراسخ تجاه الدول الأفريقية الشقيقة، كما أكد السفير على ترحيب الدولة المصرية باستقبال كافة الطلاب الليبيريين، معرباً عن تطلعه لأن تتضمن قائمة المرشحين المتقدمين للدراسة في مصر سواء في الأزهر الشريف أو في الجامعات المدنية أو لدراسة اللغة العربية، مرشحات من الطالبات الليبيرييات، وذلك في إطار الجهود المصرية لدعم الدور المحوري للمرأة الأفريقية.

H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Azeem, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Liberia, received Sheikh Abdullah Kromah, Grand M***i of the Republic of Liberia, and Sheikh Abraham Fumbah Sherif, Secretary-General of the National Muslim Council of Liberia, accompanied by their delegation. During the meeting, the Grand M***i expressed his deep appreciation for the longstanding historical role played by Egypt and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in supporting the Muslim community in Liberia and promoting the values of moderation. He noted that these efforts contribute to further strengthening the fraternal ties between Egypt and Liberia, while promoting a culture of tolerance and peace. The Secretary-General of the National Muslim Council of Liberia, for his part, underscored the importance of the training programs and scholarships provided by the Egyptian Government to Liberian students pursuing their studies at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and at Egyptian universities and institutes. He further expressed his aspiration to broaden the scope of cooperation between the two sides to include, in addition to scholarships for Liberian students, the dispatch of professors and scholars from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to Liberia to teach the Arabic language, jurisprudence, and Sharia sciences.
For his part, H.E. the Ambassador reaffirmed the readiness of the Egyptian Government to continue providing the necessary support to the Muslim community in Liberia, expand training opportunities, and work to address any challenges that the Liberian students may encounter in pursuing their studies in Egypt. He emphasized that such efforts aim to enhance the capacities of Liberian trainees and enable them to obtain maximum benefit from the scholarships offered by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Egyptian universities. He further noted that the support extended by the Egyptian Government reflects the responsibility arising from Egypt’s steadfast commitment to its brotherly African countries. The Ambassador also reaffirmed Egypt’s welcome to all Liberian students, expressing his hope that the list of candidates seeking to pursue their studies in Egypt—whether at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Egyptian universities, or in Arabic-language programs—would include female Liberian students as well, in line with Egypt’s efforts to support and strengthen the pivotal role of African women.

أقام السيد السفير/ أحمد عبد العظيم، سفير جمهورية مصر العربية لدى ليبيريا، يوم 10 يوليو 2026 حفلاً في العاصمة الليبيرية مونروفيا بمناسبة الذكرى الرابعة والسبعين لثورة 23 يوليو المجيدة، وقد حضر الحفل كل من وزيرة الخارجية الليبيرية/Sara Beysolow Nyanti، عميدة الوزراء الليبيريين، بالإضافة إلى وزيرة الدفاع / Geraldine Janet George، ووزيرة التجارة والصناعة / Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh ، ووزير الزراعة / J. Alexander Nuetah ، ورئيس سلطة الطيران المدني /Julius D.Dennis ، وأمين عام الحكومة الليبيرية/ Nathaniel Kwabo، ونواب وزراء الداخلية والصحة والعدل والتعليم الليبيريين، ورئيس جمعية رجال الأعمال الليبيريين/ James M. Strother ، ورئيس غرفة التجارة الليبيرية/ O. Natty B. Davis، فضلاً عن المشاركة الاستثنائية للرئيسة الليبيرية السابقة/ Ellen Johnson Sirleaf، الحاصلة على جائزة نوبل للسلام وعضو المجلس الاستشاري الدولي لمركز القاهرة الدولي ومنتدى أسوان؛ وبحضور السفراء المعتمدين لدى ليبيريا، وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي وممثلي المنظمات الدولية والإقليمية، بالإضافة إلى حضور مجتمع الأعمال في ليبيريا والقيادات الدينية الليبيرية، وأعضاء الجالية المصرية.
وقد ألقى السيد السفير كلمةً تناول فيها دور ثورة يوليو المجيدة، التي تُمثل مرحلة مفصلية في التاريخ الحديث للدولة المصرية، وتعكس القيم الراسخة المتمثلة في السيادة والوحدة الوطنية وحق الشعوب في تقرير مصيرها، حيث أكد السيد السفير على أن الثورة قد أرست دعائم الدولة الوطنية الحديثة، وأسهمت في ترسيخ مبادئ الاستقلال والعدالة الاجتماعية، مشيراً في هذا الصدد إلى دورها البارز في دعم حركات التحرر الوطني في المنطقة والقارة الإفريقية، وتعزيز مكانة مصر الإقليمية والدولية، بما يجسد التزامها التاريخي بمساندة قضايا التحرر والتنمية والسلام.
شدد السيد السفير على ما يحمله تزامن الاحتفال بذكرى ثورة 23 يوليو مع ذكرى عيد الاستقلال الليبيري من دلالات تعكس القيم المشتركة التي تجمع البلدين، وفي مقدمتها السعي نحو الاستقلال، وترسيخ السيادة الوطنية، وتحقيق التنمية والازدهار، كما أعاد التأكيد على عمق العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين مصر وليبيريا على كافة المستويات، وعلى التنسيق الوثيق بين الدولتين على المستوى الثنائي، من خلال التشاور المُستمر وتبادل الدعم إزاء القضايا ذات الاهتمام المُشترك.
كما تناولت كلمة السيد السفير حرص مصر على مواصلة تقديم الدعم الفني وبناء القدرات لليبيريا في مختلف القطاعات، بما يعزز أداء المؤسسات الوطنية الليبيرية ويسهم في تحقيق أولويات وخطط التنمية الوطنية، وذلك عبر البرامج والدورات التدريبية التي تقدمها الوكالة المصرية للشراكة من أجل التنمية، بالتعاون مع الجهات الوطنية المصرية، للكوادر الليبيرية في مختلف المجالات.
من جانبها، أكدت السيدة وزيرة الخارجية الليبيرية على عمق العلاقات التاريخية والدبلوماسية بين مصر وليبيريا، والتي تمتد إلى قرابةً 70 عام، مشيرةً في هذا الصدد إلى الجهود المصرية نحو دعم جهود التنمية الوطنية الليبيرية، من خلال بناء قدرات الكوادر الليبيرية، بما يُسهم في دعم خطة التنمية الوطنية الشاملة "AAID"، ومؤكدةً على حرص ليبيريا على توسيع أطر التعاون المُشترك مع مصر في كافة المجالات.


Celebration of Embassy of The Arab Republic of Egypt in Monrovia on the Occasion of the 74th Anniversary of the July 1952 Revolution

On July 10, 2026, Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Azeem, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Liberia, held a ceremony in the Liberian capital, Monrovia, to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution. The Ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia, Sara Beysolow Nyanti; Minister of National Defense, Geraldine Janet George; Minister of Commerce and Industry, Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh; Minister of Agriculture, J. Alexander Nuetah; Director General of Civil Aviation, Julius D. Dennis; Director General of the Cabinet of Republic of Liberia, Nathaniel Kwabo, in addition to Liberian Deputy Ministers of Interior, Health, Justice, and Education, President of the Liberia Business Association, James M. Strother, and President of Liberia Chamber of Commerce, O. Natty B. Davis, as well as the exceptional participation of Former President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and member of the International Advisory Board of the Cairo Center and the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development; Ambassadors accredited to Liberia; members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international and regional organizations; a number of figures from the Liberian business community, Liberian religious leaders, and members of the Egyptian community.

The Ambassador delivered a speech, in which he highlighted the significance of the Glorious 23 July Revolution as a defining milestone in the modern history of Egypt, reflecting the enduring values of sovereignty, national unity, and the right of peoples to self-determination. He emphasized that the Revolution laid the foundations of the modern nation state, and contributed to consolidating the principles of independence and social justice. In this context, he underscored its prominent role in supporting national liberation movements across the region and the African continent, while strengthening Egypt’s regional and international standing, thereby embodying Egypt’s longstanding commitment to advancing the causes of liberation, development, and peace.

The Ambassador further stressed the significance of the coincidence of the celebration of the anniversary of the 23 July Revolution with Liberia’s Independence Day, noting that it reflects the shared values that unite the two countries, foremost among them the pursuit of independence, the consolidation of national sovereignty, and the promotion of development and prosperity. He also reaffirmed the depth of the diplomatic relations between Egypt and Liberia at all levels, highlighting the close bilateral coordination between the two countries through continuous consultations and mutual support on issues of common interest.
The Ambassador also underscored Egypt’s commitment to continuing its technical assistance and capacity-building support for Liberia across various sectors, which aimed at strengthening the performance of Liberian national institutions and contributing to the implementation of the country's national development priorities and plans. In this regard, he referred to the training programmes and capacity-building courses offered by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), in cooperation with Egyptian national institutions, to Liberian professionals across a wide range of fields.
For her part, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia reaffirmed the depth of the longstanding historical and diplomatic relations between Egypt and Liberia, which span nearly 70 years. In this regard, she highlighted Egypt's efforts to support Liberia's national development through capacity-building programmes for Liberian caders, thereby contributing to the implementation of the country's national development plan, the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID). She also emphasized Liberia's commitment to expanding the framework of bilateral cooperation with Egypt across all fields.
