Statement by Representative Clarence G. Gahr on Alleged Recorded Conversation

It has come to my attention that a recorded conversation falsely implicating me in discussions regarding financial incentives related to the removal of the Speaker is circulating on social media and other platforms. I want to unequivocally state that this recording is not only false but also maliciously doctored. At no point did I discuss money in connection with the Speaker's removal.

After reviewing the recording, my office believes that advanced technology, including Artificial Intelligence, may have been employed to manipulate this conversation and create a fabricated narrative. This constitutes a criminal act aimed at misleading the public and tarnishing my reputation. I categorically deny the claims made in this doctored recording and challenge those responsible to submit it for a credible forensic investigation.

I am confident that any thorough and independent inquiry will reveal the manipulation of this recording and expose the true intentions of those behind it. We live in an era where technology can easily distort reality through deepfake capabilities, creating convincing but entirely false content. This can have devastating effects if not critically assessed.

I urge the Liberian public to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of content shared on social media. Let us not be misled by propaganda and distortion. I also encourage my fellow citizens to focus on the core issues raised in the resolution against the Speaker, which are vital for the future of our leadership and governance.

I stand by my integrity and the principles guiding my work as a public servant. This attempt to distract me from important legislative efforts will not deter me. I remain committed to serving the Liberian people, ensuring that our leadership embodies transparency, accountability, and honor.

Thank you.

Signed:
Hon. Clarence G. Gahr
Representative, District #5, Margibi County.
