Mr. Morris Sheriff
Founder of the Morris Sheriff Development Foundation (MSDF) writes:

The fight against drug abuse and illicit substance trafficking in Liberia is the defining battle of our generation. It is a battle for the minds, health, and futures of our youth. It is a war we cannot afford to lose.
Through the Morris Sheriff Foundation (MSF), we recently launched our largest anti-drug awareness campaign yet. We brought together hundreds of enthusiastic youth and community leaders and elders in District #17, Montserrado County. To ground this message in unity, my foundation invested over $40,000 USD to organize this campaign and a $1,000,000 Liberian Dollars into recreational football and kickball tournaments.
Sports possess a unique power to heal, connect, and inspire. By strengthening the bond of community unity on the pitch, we built a fortress of resilience against the plague of addiction. This milestone event, alongside our ongoing mini-awareness campaigns across Monrovia and various communities, proves that when Liberians unite, transformation is inevitable.
However, this monumental task cannot be achieved by one foundation alone. Today, I want to look beyond our own initiatives to formally acknowledge, applaud, and appreciate the incredible network of heroes standing on the frontlines of this national crisis.

A Salute to Our Civil Society and Advocacy Icons
First, we must celebrate the relentless champions who use their voices as shields for our youth. Special recognition belongs to popular human rights advocate Martin K. N. Kollie. His unwavering dedication to social justice and the well-being of ordinary Liberians continues to spark vital national conversations.
To all the other civil society organizations (CSOs), community leaders, and meaningful citizens: your grassroots programs, counseling centers, and stubborn refusal to give up on our youth do not go unnoticed. You are the heartbeat of this struggle. You are turning statistics back into human lives.

Appreciating the Government's Decisive Stance
A grassroots movement can only go so far without systemic, institutional backing. For this reason, we extend our profound appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Liberia.
By treating the drug epidemic not merely as a criminal issue, but as a critical national security and public health emergency, the government has provided the policy backbone needed to scale this fight. We applaud the state’s law enforcement, judicial, and health sectors for their intensified crackdown on drug cartels and their expanding support for rehabilitation frameworks. True victory requires a top-down and bottom-up approach, and the government's current posture gives us immense hope.

The Road Ahead: One Mama LiberiaTo the hundreds of youth who danced, ran, and cheered during our recent tournament: you are not "at-risk." You are the promise of our nation. To the elders who guided them: your wisdom is our anchor. The MSF remains fully committed to spreading these awareness campaigns to every corner of our beloved country, Mama Liberia.

District 17 deserves better from those in authority.

The Loyal Forces of Hon. Morris Sheriff, CEO of the Sheriff Development Corporation (SDC) and the Morris Sheriff Development Foundation (MSDF), strongly condemns the unfortunate incident reportedly witnessed during the Annual District Sitting held on May 23, 2026, at the Unity Conference Center in Virginia, District 17.

According to multiple reports, students who gathered peacefully to express concerns over what they described as the growing neglect of education in the district and the prioritization of pageantry over educational advancement were brutalized and manhandled. Such actions are deeply troubling and undermine the importance of education and youth engagement in our society.
When students begin leaving classrooms to demand attention on educational issues, it becomes more than just a student concern; but rather a public concern.

The Loyal Forces believe that the voices of students must be heard, respected, and addressed through dialogue rather than intimidation. District 17 cannot claim meaningful progress while the concerns of its young people continue to be ignored.

As a statesman and advocate for youth empowerment, civic engagement, and community development, Hon. Morris Sheriff maintains that education must remain a priority.
We therefore ask: since the current lawmaker ascended to leadership, when has a scholar, outstanding academic achiever, or any major education-centered initiative in District 17 received meaningful public recognition, celebration, or sustained support from the office of the lawmaker?
That question alone explains why the concerns raised by the students were justified.

The Loyal Forces therefore call on the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the reported incident and ensure accountability where necessary.
Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, and their voices should be met with listening ears, responsible leadership, and meaningful action.

Signed:
The Loyal Forces of Hon. Morris Sheriff

The operational commencement of waste management activities by the Sheriff Development Corporation (SDC) of Sherville King marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to promote environmental sustainability in Monrovia. As a company dedicated to improving sanitation and public health, SDC’s entry into full-scale waste management operations reflects a growing commitment from private-sector actors to support national development priorities. This initiative aligns with the broader vision of creating a cleaner, healthier, and more livable city for all residents.
Central to this effort is SDC’s collaboration with the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), the government body responsible for overseeing sanitation and city management. Working alongside MCC and other waste management entities, SDC is helping to strengthen coordinated action across Monrovia. This partnership ensures that waste collection, disposal, and public awareness efforts are more efficient, organized, and impactful.
A key feature of this operational rollout is its alignment with the nationally recognized first Saturday cleaning exercise. This monthly initiative encourages citizens, institutions, and businesses to actively participate in cleaning their surroundings. By integrating its operations with this exercise, SDC is not only providing logistical support but also reinforcing a culture of collective responsibility. The company’s presence during these clean-up campaigns helps amplify the importance of proper waste disposal and community involvement.
Moreover, SDC’s operational approach emphasizes both efficiency and sustainability. By deploying trained personnel, appropriate equipment, and structured waste collection systems, the company aims to reduce indiscriminate dumping and improve overall waste handling practices. These efforts contribute directly to reducing environmental hazards, preventing disease outbreaks, and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Monrovia’s neighborhoods.
In conclusion, the commencement of waste management operations by Sheriff Development Corporation represents a forward-thinking step toward addressing one of Monrovia’s most pressing urban challenges. Through strategic collaboration with the Monrovia City Corporation and participation in the first Saturday cleaning initiative, SDC is playing a vital role in reshaping the city’s sanitation landscape. As these efforts continue to expand, they hold the promise of fostering a cleaner environment and a stronger sense of civic pride among residents.

Our youth are under threat and silence is no longer an option.

Across communities, substance abuse is quietly destroying dreams, breaking families, and stealing the future of young people. But in District 17, a different response is taking shape; one built on action, not words.

The drug awareness campaign led by Morris Sheriff, CEO of the Morris Sheriff Development Foundation is stepping directly into this challenge. It goes beyond speeches. It focuses on real impact and educating, preventing, and protecting.

This initiative is designed to:
*Raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse

*Empower young people to make informed choices

*Support families in guiding the next generation

*Strengthen communities through prevention and responsibility.
The truth is simple: ignoring the problem only makes it worse. Real change requires leadership that is present, consistent, and committed to the cause.

This campaign sends a clear message; the future of our youth matters, and it must be protected now.
The question is no longer whether the problem exists.
The question is: what are we doing about it?
Stand up. Speak out. Support the movement.

Protect our youth. Secure our future.
And the Loyal Forces say thank you, Hon. Morris Sheriff, for leading the fight and standing for the future of our youth.

Watch the movement. Watch the impact.

The recent visit of Hon. Saah Joseph, Senator of Montserrado County, to the ongoing hospital project in District 17 speaks volumes. It is a clear sign that what is being built here is not ordinary; it is transformational.

This massive healthcare initiative, driven by Mr. Morris Sheriff, CEO of the Morris Sheriff Development Foundation, is rapidly becoming one of the most significant developments in District 17 and Liberia as a whole. A project designed not just to stand, but to serve, bringing quality healthcare closer to our people.
What we are witnessing is leadership in action.
Not empty promises. Not political talk.
But real, visible, measurable progress.

This hospital will:
•Expand access to quality healthcare
•Create jobs for our people
•Improve lives across communities
•And beyond the structure itself, it reflects something deeper, a leader with a vision, a heart for the people, and the courage to deliver where others have failed.

When leaders like Hon. Saah H. Joseph recognize and visit such progress, it confirms one thing:
District 17 is rising and
Mr. Morris Sheriff is not waiting for change.
He is building it.
