Empowering Communities for Sustainable Water Supply Scheme Management: The Impact of Capacity Building and Ownership Programs
The Dunsinane Water User Committee and water supply scheme employees are actively ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the Dunsinane Water Supply Scheme. Through continuous capacity-building efforts by WaSSIP, sense of ownership programs, and the guidance of PHDT, they are strengthening their capabilities each day. The support and involvement of the estate manager and estate management team are greatly appreciated, as they have made significant efforts to ensure the sustainability of the Dunsinane Water Supply Scheme.
In celebration of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day, the committee organized a tree-planting program, distributing plants to children and promoting environmental awareness. Estate management, water user committee members, Water Supply Scheme employees, community members, youngsters, school students, and children came together to make this event a success.
