INTAKE 21 – 41 YEARS OF SERVICE, SACRIFICE AND BROTHERHOOD
Today, 6 June 2026, marks the 41st Anniversary of our enlistment into the Sri Lanka Army as Officer Cadets of Intake 21. It was on 6 June 1985 that we embarked upon a journey of military training, professional development, and unwavering service to our Motherland.
For almost three decades, we dedicated our lives to safeguarding the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Sri Lanka. Together, we stood steadfast in the face of the armed conflicts that affected both the North and South of our nation, fulfilling our duty with courage, commitment, and honour.
Intake 21 holds a unique place in the history of the Sri Lanka Army. Among our ranks are some of the highest number of officers who made the supreme sacrifice in battle, as well as many who rose to the highest levels of military leadership. Their service, valour, and achievements remain a lasting source of pride and inspiration to us all.
For forty-one years, the bond of brotherhood forged during our formative military years has remained unbroken. It has stood firm through times of hardship and triumph alike, extending beyond ourselves to our spouses, children, and families. This enduring camaraderie has enriched our lives, strengthened our resolve, and provided guidance and encouragement throughout our journey.
Today, we celebrate not only our shared memories but also the challenges we overcame together, the friendships we cherish, and the values that continue to unite us.
On this special occasion, we respectfully remember and honour all members of Sri Lanka’s Armed Forces, past and present, and pay our deepest tribute to those who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
As the years pass, the spirit of brotherhood that binds us grows ever stronger. It remains a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration as we continue our journey through life. May our legacy of service, sacrifice, loyalty, and comradeship stand as an example for future generations.

ඉන්ටේක් 21 – සේවය, කැපවීම සහ සහෝදරත්වයේ 41 වසරක්
අද, 2026 ජූනි මස 6 වන දින, ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදාවේ නිලධාරි කැඩෙට්වරුන් ලෙස ඉන්ටේක් 21 යටතේ අප හමුදා දිවියට එක්වී වසර 41ක් සපිරෙන ගෞරවනීය සංවත්සරය සනිටුහන් කරයි. 1985 ජූනි 6 වන දින ආරම්භ වූ එම ගමන, හමුදා පුහුණුව, වෘත්තීය ප්‍රවීණත්වය සහ මව්බිම වෙනුවෙන් නොසැලෙන සේවය මත ගොඩනැගුණු අර්ථවත් ජීවන චාරිකාවක් විය.
දශක තුනකට ආසන්න කාලයක් පුරා අප සියලු දෙනාම ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ස්වෛරීභාවය, ජාතික එකමුතුව සහ භෞමික අඛණ්ඩතාව ආරක්ෂා කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් අපගේ ජීවිත කැප කළෙමු. රටේ උතුරු හා දකුණු ප්‍රදේශවල පැවති සන්නද්ධ ගැටුම් හමුවේ අපි අභියෝගයන්ට නොබියව මුහුණ දෙමින්, අප වෙත පැවරුණු යුතුකම ගෞරවයෙන්, කැපවීමෙන් හා වීරත්වයෙන් ඉටු කළෙමු.
ඉන්ටේක් 21 ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදා ඉතිහාසයේ විශේෂ ස්ථානයක් හිමි කරගෙන සිටී. අප අතරින් සටන් බිමේ ජීවිත පූජා කළ නිලධාරීන්ගේ සංඛ්‍යාව ඉහළම මට්ටමක පවතින අතර, හමුදාවේ උසස්තම තනතුරු දක්වා උසස් වූ නිලධාරීන් රැසක්ද මෙම කණ්ඩායමෙන් බිහි වී ඇත. ඔවුන්ගේ කැපවීම, වීරත්වය හා ජයග්‍රහණ අදත් අප සැමගේ අභිමානයට හා ආදර්ශයට හේතුවකි.
හමුදා පුහුණුවේදී ගොඩනැගුණු අපගේ සහෝදරත්වයේ බැඳීම වසර 41ක් පුරා නොකැඩී පවත්වාගෙන පැමිණ ඇත. එය දුක්බර අවස්ථාවලදී මෙන්ම සතුටුදායක අවස්ථාවලදීද අප සමඟ සිටි අතර, අපගේ බිරිඳන්, දරුවන් සහ පවුල්වලටද ව්‍යාප්ත වී ඇත. මෙම අසමසම මිත්‍රත්වය අපගේ ජීවිත ශක්තිමත් කළ අතර, ජීවිතයේ විවිධ අවස්ථාවලදී අපට මඟපෙන්වීමක් හා ධෛර්යයක් ලබා දී ඇත.
අද අප සමරන්නේ සුන්දර මතකයන් පමණක් නොව, එක්ව ජයගත් අභියෝග, සුරැකි මිත්‍රත්වය සහ තවමත් අපව එකට බැඳ තබන වටිනා හමුදා සම්ප්‍රදායන්ය.
මෙම විශේෂ අවස්ථාවේදී, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ත්‍රිවිධ හමුදාවන්හි අතීත හා වර්තමාන සියලුම සාමාජිකයන් ගෞරවයෙන් සිහිපත් කරන අතර, මව්බිම වෙනුවෙන් දිවි පිදූ සියලු වීරෝදාර රණවිරුවන්ට අපගේ උත්තමාචාරය පුද කරමු. ඔවුන්ගේ පරිත්‍යාගය කිසිදා අමතක නොවනු ඇත.
කාලය ගෙවී යද්දී අපව බැඳ තබන සහෝදරත්වයේ බැඳීම තව තවත් ශක්තිමත් වෙමින් පවතී. ජීවිතයේ අවසාන ගමන දක්වා එය අපට ශක්තියක්, සැනසීමක් සහ ආශ්වාදයක් වනු ඇත. අපගේ සේවය, පරිත්‍යාගය, පක්ෂපාතීභාවය සහ සහෝදරත්වය අනාගත පරපුරටද ආදර්ශයක් වේවා.
“සේවයේදී එක්වූ අපි, ආත්මයෙන් සදා එක්ව සිටිමු.”
ඉන්ටේක් 21 හි සියලුම සාමාජිකයින්ට 41 වන සංවත්සරයට උණුසුම් සුබපැතුම්!
