بالتعاون مع الصندوق الدولي للتنمية الزراعية (IFAD)، وفي سياق تطوير مشروع جديد بعنوان "القدرة على مواجهة تغير المناخ وترابط النظم الإيكولوجية (CC-REC) لتقديمه إلى صندوق التكيف (Adaptation Fund )، وبرعاية من وزارة البيئة، نظمت محمية أرز الشوف سلسلة من الجلسات التشاورية لمجموعات مختلفة من الجهات المعنية في الشوف وراشيا والبقاع الغربي، بهدف تصميم تدخلات من شأنها ربط المناطق الثلاث بعضها ببعض وإنشاء ممر بيئي متكيف مع آثار تغير المناخ.
"في مجال التكيف مع تغير المناخ، تكون المبادرات التشاركية مستدامة لأنها تعتمد على القدرات والمعرفة المحلية، ولأن المشاركين لديهم "ملكية" القرارات التي يتم اتخاذها، وبالتالي هم أكثر إمكانية للالتزام بها"، اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة الإطارية بشأن تغير المناخ.

In collaboration with IFAD, and in context of the development of a new project entitled "Climate Change Resilience and Ecosystem Connectivity (CC-REC), to be submitted to the Adaptation Fund under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment, the Shouf Biosphere Reserve hosted a series of multi-stakeholder consultation sessions in the Shouf, Rashaya, and West Bekaa, where the aim is to design interventions that will link the three regions together and create a resilient ecological corridor.
“In Climate Change adaptation, participatory initiatives are more likely to be sustainable because they build on local capacity and knowledge, and because the participants have “ownership” of any decisions made and are thus more likely to comply with them”, UNFCC.

الصنوبر أو أما يعرف بـ"الذهب الأبيض"
هو منتج يحمل علامة محمية أرز الشوف، يقوم أبناء المجتمع المحلي بقطفه وتعليبه ليكون جاهزاً ليطيّب أطباقاً ومشروبات تقليدية.
عرفت أشجاره في لبنان منذ أكثر من 600 عام، وفي محمية أرز الشوف، فنجدها تغطي مساحات واسعة في منطقة التنمية، أهمها في قرى عين زحلتا، وبمهريه، والباروك، ونيحا.
Pine nuts or the “white gold”
Their trees have been growing in Lebanon for more than 600 years now, and the most spectacular and largest forests in the Shouf Biosphere Reserve development zone are found in the villages of Ain Zhalta, Bmohray, Barouk and Niha.
It is one of the SBR products, collected and packed by the local communities, ready to be used in traditional dishes.

بدأ العمل على تطوير خطة إدارية جديدة للأعوام 2025- 2029 لمحمية أرز الشوف للمحيط الحيوي، مع اتباع نهج تشاركي يشمل جميع الجهات المعنية. وكانت المحمية قد نظمت عدة اجتماعات خلال الأشهر الستة الماضية لوضع أهداف طويلة المدى تلبي كافة التوقعات، وتتغلب على التحديات التي تم تحديدها، وفقا لإرشادات ومعايير دولية لإدارة المحميات، وبدعم مستمر من وزارة البيئة.
وهو جزء من مشروع Resiland، الذي تموله الوكالة الإيطالية للتنمية والتعاون وتنفذه محمية أرز الشوف وIstituto Oikos. وهو يشمل تطوير خطط إدارية لمحمية جبل موسى المحيط الحيوي ومحمية جبل الشيخ الطبيعية.
The Shouf Biosphere Reserve Management Plan 2025-2029 is under development, with a participatory approach engaging all stakeholders. Several meetings were held during the past six months to set long-term objectives that meet all expectations, and overcome identified challenges, according to international management guidelines and criteria, with the continuous support of the Ministry of Environment.
It is part of Resiland, a project funded by the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by ACS and Istituto Oikos. This project also includes the development of Management Plans for Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve and the and Mount Hermon Nature Reserve.

Thematic Working Groups within BioConnect have established to ensure collaborative work and joint development of related activities among the project partners and targeted stakeholders.
WG1, entitled Monitoring and Evaluation, aims to adapt, develop and implement efficient monitoring protocols for key biodiversity features and the corresponding main pressures (species and ecosystems).
Regular meetings are held to follow up on the different issues, such as this one on the 22nd of March.

الرمان: "جوهرة في عالم الفاكهة" وفقاً للحديقة النباتية الملكية البريطانية!
إنه أحد الأنواع المحلية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، وبالتالي فهو مقاوم لآثار تغير المناخ.
ويعتبر دبس الرمان أحد مكونات المونة التقليدية التي تسعى محمية أرز الشوف إلى دعمها، وبالتالي تحضيرها بعناية من قبل المجتمعات المحلية، باتباع وصفات تقليدية، وفق أعلى معايير السلامة الغذائية.

It is one of the native species of the Middle East and therefore resilient to climate change.
In the Shouf Biosphere Reserve one can find, in addition to the fruit itself starting September, the delicious molasses prepared with care by the local communities, following a traditional recipe, and certified by the highest food safet
