دعم الجامعة العالمي للمساعدات الإنسانية الأسترالية إلى لبنان
مشاركة رئاسية فاعلة مدعومة بقيادة إقليمية تضيء على التنسيق في العمل الدولي

أعادت الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم التأكيد على قوة حراكها العالمي المنسّق، وذلك في أعقاب حزمتين من المساعدات الإنسانية التي أعلنت عنهما الحكومة الأسترالية لصالح لبنان، بقيمة إجمالية بلغت 10 ملايين دولار.
وفي مناسبتين منفصلتين، تم تقديم مذكرات رسمية مباشرة إلى وزيرة الخارجية الأسترالية من قبل الرئيس العالمي للجامعة، حيث تم نقل إلحاح الوضع الإنساني في لبنان، والدعوة إلى تقديم دعم فوري.
وجاءت هذه التحركات في إطار الجهود الدولية المنظمة التي تقودها الجامعة، لضمان إيصال واقع معاناة الشعب اللبناني بوضوح إلى أعلى المستويات وفي اللحظات الحرجة.
وفي الأيام التي تلت كل من هذه المراسلات، أعلنت الحكومة الأسترالية عن حزم مساعدات إنسانية بقيمة 5 ملايين دولار في كل مرة.
ورغم أن مثل هذه القرارات تخضع لاعتبارات متعددة، إلا أن تقارب توقيت هذه النتائج مع التواصل المباشر يسلّط الضوء على أهمية العمل المنظّم، القائم على المصداقية والتوقيت المناسب.
وقال الدكتور أبراهيم قسطنطين، الرئيس العالمي للجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم:
“بصفتي رئيساً للجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، قمت بتقديم مذكرات رسمية مباشرة إلى وزيرة الخارجية الأسترالية في لحظات مفصلية، لضمان إيصال الاحتياجات الملحّة للبنان بوضوح إلى أعلى المستويات.”
وأضاف:
“هذا يعكس المسؤولية التي نحملها كمنظمة عالمية للتحرك بحزم وبنّاء دعماً للبنان وشعبه.”
كما جاء في بيان مشترك صادر عن رئيس وأمين عام المجلس القاري (أستراليا ونيوزيلندا):
“إن هذا التواصل والتنسيق المباشر من الرئيس يعكس التزام الجامعة بحراك استباقي وفعّال على الساحة الدولية.”
“وبصفتنا قيادة إقليمية، فإننا ندعم بشكل كامل هذه الجهود ونعززها، في إطار مقاربة أوسع ومنسّقة لضمان وصول صوت لبنان إلى حيث يجب أن يُسمع.”
وأشادت الجامعة باستجابة الحكومة الأسترالية للاحتياجات الإنسانية للشعب اللبناني، كما نوّهت بالجهود الأوسع التي تبذلها الجالية اللبنانية الأسترالية وكافة الجهات المعنية التي تعمل بنيّة صادقة.
وأكدت الجامعة أنها ستواصل تحرّكها على المستويين العالمي والإقليمي، من خلال التعاون مع الحكومات والجاليات اللبنانية في الاغتراب، من أجل تعزيز الدعم للبنان في أوقات الحاجة.

WLCU Global Advocacy Supports Australian Humanitarian Assistance to Lebanon
Presidential engagement reinforced by regional leadership highlights coordinated international action
Sydney, Australia – 12 April, 2026
The World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) has reaffirmed the strength of its coordinated global advocacy, following two recent Australian Government humanitarian assistance packages to Lebanon totalling $10 million.
On two separate occasions, formal representations were made directly to the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs by the World Council President of the WLCU, conveying the urgency of the humanitarian situation in Lebanon and calling for immediate support.
These representations formed part of the WLCU’s structured international advocacy efforts, ensuring that the realities facing the Lebanese people were clearly communicated at the highest levels at critical moments.
In the days that followed each of these representations, the Australian Government announced humanitarian assistance packages of $5 million on both occasions.
While such decisions are shaped by a range of considerations, the proximity of these outcomes to direct engagement underscores the importance of timely, credible, and coordinated advocacy.
“In my capacity as President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, I made formal representations directly to the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs at critical moments to ensure Lebanon’s urgent needs were clearly communicated at the highest levels,” said Dr Abraham Constantin, World Council President of the WLCU.
“This reflects the responsibility we carry as a global organisation to act decisively and constructively in support of Lebanon and its people.”
“The President’s direct engagement reflects the WLCU’s commitment to proactive and effective advocacy on the international stage,” said the President and the Secretary General of the Continental Council (Australia and New Zealand) in a joint statement.
“As regional leadership, we fully support and reinforce these efforts, which form part of a broader, coordinated approach to ensuring Lebanon’s voice is heard where it matters most.
The WLCU acknowledged the Australian Government’s response to the humanitarian needs of the Lebanese people and recognised the broader efforts of the Lebanese-Australian community and all stakeholders advocating in good faith.
The organisation will continue to engage at both global and regional levels, working collaboratively with governments and the Lebanese diaspora to advance support for Lebanon during times of need .
