솔직히 말하면, 이 자리가 이렇게 될 줄 몰랐습니다.

싱가포르 패션 카운슬과 Enterprise Singapore가 주도한 Singapore Selects — 싱가포르를 대표하는 18개 패션 및 라이프스타일 브랜드가 서울패션위크에 맞춰 성수 ZZON에 모였습니다. 프리즈 서울과 같은 기간이었고요.

그 18개 브랜드 중 하나가 Young Hungry Free였고 — 부자진이 콜라보를 함께했습니다.

패션과 진이 무슨 관계냐고 물으실 수 있어요. 저도 처음엔 그 질문을 했습니다. 그런데 Young Hungry Free를 알면 알수록 — 두 브랜드가 같은 말을 하고 있다는 걸 알게 됐어요. 타협하지 않는다. 자기 것을 한다. 그게 전부다.

양평 밭에서 시작한 한국 크래프트 진이 싱가포르를 대표하는 브랜드들과 성수에서 한 잔을 나눴습니다. 생각보다 자연스러웠어요.

Honestly, I didn't expect it to feel like this.

Singapore: Selects — an initiative by the Singapore Fashion Council and Enterprise Singapore — brought 18 homegrown Singaporean fashion and lifestyle brands to Seongsu's ZZON, timed alongside Seoul Fashion Week SS27 and Frieze Seoul. Young Hungry Free was one of them. Buja Gin was there too.

Someone asked me what a craft gin distillery has to do with fashion. Fair question. Standing in that space, the answer became obvious — everyone in that room was saying the same thing, just in different languages. Do your own thing. No shortcuts. That's it.

A craft gin from a herb farm in Yangpyeong, sharing a room with some of Singapore's most considered brands in the most creative neighbourhood in Seoul. It felt more natural than I expected.

Thank you to Young Hungry Free and Singapore Selects. This won't be the last time.

둥굴레 진에 고구마가 들어간다는 거, 알고 계셨나요?

오늘은 직접 밭에 나왔습니다. 다음 진 라인업에 들어갈 고구마를 수확하러요. 말복 이라고 하지만 — 솔직히, 여전히 가혹합니다. 예상보다 많은 고구마, 예상보다 많은 땀...진짜로 덥습니다. 흙 속에 손을 넣고, 머리 위엔 땡볕, 고구마 앞에 지름길은 없습니다.

밭일 끝나고 품질 관리차 몇 개 구워 먹어 볼까 합니다.

Did you know sweet potato goes into our Doongulae gin?

I'm out in the field today — harvesting the sweet potatoes that will go into our next expression. It's the tail end of the Korean summer heat, and I'll be honest, it's relentless out here. More sweet potatoes than I expected. More sweat than I'd like to admit.

But this is where it starts. Every bottle begins with a day like this — hands in the soil, sun overhead, no shortcuts. We'll roast a few on the way back. Consider it quality control.

마트에선 절대 만날 수 없는 진이 있어요.
대형마트 주류 코너를 아무리 뒤져도 부자진은 안 보일 거예요.

수제로 생산되는 진이라 이런 특별한 자리가 아니면 만나기 어렵거든요. 이번엔 그 자리가 팔도밥상페어 홈술상점이에요.

전국 팔도의 식재료와 전통주가 한자리에 모이는 곳에 부자진도 함께해요. 마트에서 살 수 없는 이색 주류를 직접 시음해보고, 한식 안주와의 페어링까지 경험해볼 수 있는 흔치 않은 기회예요.
