Project Sangkhem

Project Sangkhem Project Sangkhem, in its 15th year of running, is a YEP under NVAC and has been working with Love Cambodia since. Sangkhem stands for hope in Khmer.

In 2003, Project Sangkhem started out in the Prey Veng Provincial Town. Together with our partner NGO, Love Cambodia, we established the Sangkhem Youth Centre with the aim of helping the youth acquire life skills, and to provide a stable environment for them to grow and learn.

9 years later, we witnessed the growth of the youth centre, which now has over 10 computers, providing internet service

and computer lessons. We also have a mini-library and provide basic English lessons. In addition, the Sangkhem Cafe was also set up, to allow the youth centre to be self-sufficient. As the youth centre continues to grow, Project Sangkhem has decided to shift our focus into the less-developed villages in Prey Veng. In these villages, we witnessed people who lack the things many would call necessities in Singapore.

Hi NUS! We are from Project Sangkhem πŸ™ŒπŸ», a group of students heading to Prey Veng, Cambodia in December for our OCIP!! 😊✈️

We will be working together with Love Cambodia ❀️ to help build a kindergarten in the Prey Veng province πŸ’ͺ🏻 Till today, decent education remains a dream for Khmer kids in Prey Veng, with less than half of them completing primary school and some not even enrolled πŸ˜ͺ Established in 2007, Love Cambodia work alongside families and villagers to plan and deliver economic, social and medical programmes that assist them to be physically, spiritually, mentally and socially confident πŸ€— To find out more about the good work of this wonderful organisation please visit: www.lovecamb.org 😌

Project Sangkhem 2019 is here!

Are you looking for a chance to embark on an Overseas Community Involvement Program?

Look no more and join us as we travel to Cambodia to spread love and joy to the villagers there!

What is Project Sangkhem?

Project Sangkhem is an overseas community service project in Cambodia. First established in 2003, we partnered with Love Cambodia and is committed in helping the less-developed villages located in Prey Veng. Our goal is to bring hope and empowerment to the people living without even basic necessities. The trip will take place on December 2019.

What will we be doing?

- Organize fundraising event before heading to Cambodia in December

- Conduct lessons/educational activities in village schools

- Construct toilets, drainage system, and houses for the villagers
