𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗡𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗣𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀!🪷✨

Built in the 12th century, Neak Pean is a Mahayana Buddhist sanctuary on an artificial island along Angkor’s Grand Circuit. Inspired by Anavatapta, a mythical lake believed to hold sacred healing waters, the temple features four ponds symbolizing the four elements—earth, wind, fire, and water. Each pond is linked to the center by a chapel featuring an elephant, human, horse, or lion, reflecting ancient Khmer beliefs in healing, balance, and harmony. 🌊✨

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀:
🌸 Lotus Lake: Walk along the wooden walkway across Jayatataka Baray and enjoy serene views, especially during the Green Season.
🌅 Sunset Spot: Enjoy a peaceful sunset at Neak Pean, one of the area’s must-visit sunset spots.
🐍 Unique Water Architecture: Admire the central pool surrounded by four smaller ponds and the sandstone tower embraced by two giant Naga sculptures—giving Neak Pean its name, meaning “entwined naga.”
🐎 Flying Horse Balaha: See the famous stone statue of Balaha, a manifestation of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, on the eastern side of the central basin.

The first-ever Foreigner Khmer Speaking Contest will be held on Sunday, September 20, giving foreign residents in Cambodia a chance to showcase the Khmer language skills they have worked hard to develop.

We warmly invite you to join the 1st Foreigner Khmer Speaking Contest (FKSC 2026), hosted by KBAC (Korean Business Association in Cambodia) and co-organized by KLC Korean Language Center and News Briefing Cambodia.

Try Mee Kola, one of Battambang’s local favorite dishes!

𝗠𝗲𝗲 𝗞𝗼𝗹𝗮​ is a dry rice noodle dish made with thin noodles, flavourful seasonings, fresh vegetables, and egg. It has become a popular local speciality among both Cambodian and international visitors. A must-try for anyone exploring Battambang’s local food scene!

🌿 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻
Mee Kola is believed to be influenced by the Kola ethnic community, who migrated to Pailin Province in the 19th century. Today, this beloved dish offers a delicious taste of Cambodia’s northwestern region.

🥕 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗲
Making Mee Kola is simple and doesn’t take much time. The main ingredients include rice noodles, chicken or duck eggs, fresh vegetables such as cucumber, carrot, bean sprouts, and herbs, along with ingredients for the sweet fish sauce, such as fish sauce, lime juice or vinegar, peanuts, dried shrimp, fried garlic, and chili.

To prepare it, the noodles are first boiled or steamed until tender, then briefly stir-fried with dark soy sauce. The eggs are boiled, the fresh vegetables are prepared, and the sweet fish sauce is drizzled over the noodles.

🌴𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿: 𝗔 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

Palm sugar is a beloved Cambodian product, especially famous in Kampong Speu Province, and is also a 𝗚𝗜-𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁. For generations, local communities have passed down the skills of making palm sugar, supporting the livelihoods and traditions of rural families. It also helps promote Kampong Speu as a destination for cultural and agricultural tourism.

While Kampong Speu is renowned for its GI-certified sugar, several other provinces across Cambodia produce their own unique varieties. In this video, we take you to Preah Dak Village in Siem Reap! Here, after exploring the nearby temples, you can watch local villagers craft authentic palm sugar—and even take some home with you. ✨

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀:
🌴 Preparing the Palm Tubes: Palm leaves are burned to prepare the bamboo tubes for collecting fresh palm juice.
💧 Collecting the Juice: Palm flowers are carefully cut so the sweet juice drips into bamboo tubes, ready to be collected later that day or the next morning.
🔥 Boiling the Juice: Fresh palm juice is slowly boiled over a traditional wood-fired stove.
🍯 Reducing the Juice: The juice is simmered until it becomes thick and rich.
🥄 Stirring into Sugar: The thickened juice is stirred with a wooden stick until it transforms into palm sugar.
🌿 Shaping the Sugar: The finished palm sugar is shaped into cakes, wrapped in palm leaves, or stored for later use and sale.

Bousra Waterfall ⛰️🍃

About 30 minutes from Sen Monorom, Bousra Waterfall sits deep in the lush forests of Mondulkiri, offering visitors a chance to escape into nature and experience Cambodia’s wild beauty.

𝗣𝗵𝘂𝗺 𝗣𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 is a traditional village of the Bunong people, located in Sen Monorom City, Mondulkiri Province, about 16 km from the city center. The village is home to a large Bunong community, where generations of Bunong people have preserved their culture, traditions, and customs, reflecting their unique way of life and identity. 🌿🇰🇭

𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲: Traditionally, Bunong communities live collectively, sharing and managing land and natural resources to protect sacred forests, burial grounds, and ancestral lands for future generations. Their daily lives are deeply connected to nature, which provides food, livelihoods, and a foundation for their culture and traditions. Today, as Putang Village grows as a tourism destination in Mondulkiri, tourism offers new livelihood opportunities alongside farming and small local businesses. Through these changes, Bunong people continue to preserve their culture, beliefs, food, and traditions, including their traditional “turtle houses,” which elders believe are home to ancestral and guardian spirits.
