Consultative meeting led by Ruiru Municipality Manager Philip Mubea brought together officials from the County Government of Kiambu County(FLLoCA) and representatives of Ruiru Market to discuss the upcoming World Bank-funded solarization project aimed at transforming energy access within the market.

The meeting focused on the implementation of sustainable solar energy solutions that are expected to significantly reduce electricity costs for traders while addressing persistent blackout challenges that have affected business operations. Stakeholders welcomed the initiative, noting that the project will promote reliable power supply, improve the working environment for traders, enhance security, and support uninterrupted business activities.

The engagement highlighted the commitment of the county government and development partners toward promoting clean energy, economic empowerment, and sustainable urban development in Ruiru through inclusive collaboration with local market leadership and the business community.
