πŸ›οΈ Motion on Establishment of the Kaptembwo Ward Capacity Building and Empowerment Program

Objective:

To equip residents of Kaptembwo Ward β€” particularly youth, women, and local entrepreneurs β€” with practical skills, training, and knowledge to enhance productivity, self-employment, and community development.

Background and Rationale:

Kaptembwo Ward is home to hardworking youth and business-minded residents who face unemployment, lack of technical skills, and limited access to training opportunities. Most small business owners (e.g., salonists, mechanics, bodaboda riders, and market traders) lack access to modern knowledge in business management, digital marketing, and financial literacy.

This motion seeks to establish a Capacity Building and Empowerment Centre within Kaptembwo, working under the County’s Department of Trade, Youth, and Social Services. The Centre will organize periodic training sessions in partnership with:

TVET institutions,

NGOs,

County Trade Office,

NACADA and NITA (for certification).

Proposed Key Programs:

1. Youth Skills & Innovation Program – Training on ICT, entrepreneurship, digital jobs, and technical skills.

2. Women Enterprise Empowerment – Business and savings education for women groups and small traders.

3. Financial Literacy & Cooperative Training – Guidance on SACCO formation, record-keeping, and micro-loan management.

4. Public Service Capacity Development – Workshops for ward and sub-county officers on service delivery, accountability, and citizen engagement.

5. Health & Environment Awareness Programs – Community education on sanitation, waste management, and preventive health.

Legal and Constitutional Justification:

Article 55(a) – The State shall take measures to ensure the youth access relevant education and training.

Article 232(1)(i) – Encourages involvement of citizens in policy-making and capacity development.

Article 43(1)(e) – The right to social and economic empowerment.

My great people of Kaptembwo Ward and the entire Nakuru County 🌍

This morning, I had the honor of appearing live on RIRI TV, where I spoke about Nakuru City politics and the State of the Nation.

It was a humbling experience to share our vision β€” the dream of a better, fairer, and more developed Kaptembwo. I reminded the nation that when Nakuru was granted City status under the 2021 Nakuru City Charter, it was not just about prestige; it was about service, opportunity, and transformation for every resident, including those in Kaptembwo, Rhonda, and Bondeni.

I emphasized that leadership must reflect the true spirit of the Constitution β€” especially Article 10 on good governance, Article 43 on basic rights, and Article 174 on devolution and equitable development.

Our discussion focused on:
βœ… Improving healthcare and access to medicine.
βœ… Tackling the poor drainage systems and infrastructure.
βœ… Creating opportunities for the youth and women.
βœ… Promoting accountability and fairness in resource distribution.

I am grateful for the overwhelming support, love, and feedback from all of you who tuned in and shared your encouragement. ❀️

As I’ve always said β€” Kaptembwo si maskini wa akili, ni maskini wa uongozi bora. Together, we are changing that narrative. πŸ’ͺ

Let’s keep walking this journey of hope and transformation. The voice of Kaptembwo will be heard loud and clear.

God bless you all. πŸ™

Later after the press briefing, I had the great honor of joining the faithful during the opening of Eveready SDA Church together with my team. πŸ™

I want to sincerely thank the entire SDA family for the warm welcome and love you showed me today. Your prayers, smiles, and words of encouragement truly touched my heart. ❀️

May God bless the Eveready SDA Church and may He bless the people of Kaptembwo. πŸ™

This morning, I joined other leaders in a press briefing to strongly condemn the unfortunate political assault that occurred against Kevin Asman and Mr. Monyancha.

What happened last night was not just an attack on individuals β€” it was an attack on democracy, freedom, and the rule of law. We cannot allow acts of violence, intimidation, or political intolerance to take root in our society.

As leaders, we must lead by example β€” promoting peaceful engagement, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue. Every citizen has the right to express their political beliefs without fear or harassment.

I stand in solidarity with Kevin Asman and Mr. Monyancha, and I urge the relevant authorities to act swiftly to ensure justice is served.

Let it be known that Kaptembwo Ward and Nakuru County at large deserve issue-based politics, not violence or propaganda.
Let us embrace peace, unity, and maturity as we shape the future of our people.

β€œViolence never brings permanent peace; it only creates deeper wounds. True leadership is built on justice and respect.”
