MIDTERM REVIEW 2022–2025: Department of Education Milestones
Governor Joshua Irungu has reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to enhancing education through the Laikipia County Department of Education. Since 2022, the county government has constructed 30 new fully furnished ECDE classrooms and, in partnership with development stakeholders, delivered 12 additional ones, each equipped with a 10,000-liter water tank ensuring that young learners have access to safe and modern learning environments. To improve quality, more ECDE teachers have been recruited to address teacher shortages and support early childhood development. The County also disbursed KSh 75 million in bursaries to support bright but needy students.
