I joined the Council of Legal Education QCL Committee led by Chairperson Mr. George Nyakundi and Member Ms. Aisha Abdallah alongside officers from the Directorate of Standards, Licensing, Supervision and Compliance for an on-site inspection at the Africa Nazarene University (ANU) School of Law.

We evaluated ANU’s LL.B programme license renewal application, looking closely at curriculum delivery, staffing, infrastructure, and student support services to ensure full compliance with the Legal Education Act CAP 16B.

My appreciation to Prof. Simon Obwatho (DVC), Prof. Loise Musikali (Dean), and the entire ANU team for their commitment to academic excellence during this exercise.

CLE remains committed to safeguarding the quality of legal education and training in Kenya.

I had the opportunity to share my thoughts on the state of legal education and training in Kenya in an interview featured by The Nairobian Newspaper.

Legal education must not only produce knowledgeable lawyers, but professionals grounded in ethics, competence, integrity, and service to society. As the legal profession continues to evolve, there is need for continuous reforms, stakeholder collaboration, and stronger quality assurance systems to safeguard the standards of the profession.

The Council of Legal Education remains committed to strengthening legal education and ensuring that the administration of Bar examinations and regulation of legal training uphold public confidence and accountability.

I appreciate all stakeholders within the legal education ecosystem for their continued engagement and contribution towards shaping the future of the legal profession in Kenya.
