The Kwale County Government under the leadership of H.E. Fatuma Achani is actively pursuing grabbed lands which were acquired using fradulent methods for a number years. As a result, several parcels of land have been reclaimed/ repossessed, some in Diani, Chale and other parts of Kwale.

Recently our office-Office of the County Attorney - Kwale County Government within its mandate under Section 9(1) (a) and (b)of the Office of the County Attorney’s Act, No.14 of 2020 , to defend and prosecute matters of public interest and public property , we have obtained injunction orders against the entire Diani Beach Complex (from Tiwi to Diani ) as we seek it to be declared unconstitutional for inter alia, the settlement Scheme was manifest with fraud, unlwaful dealings and misinformation thereby not allocating parcels to locals and not following the PDP. It is our resolve for the complex be held by the County Government of Kwale in Trust for the Community.

As expected, cartels and land grabbers have regrouped and restrategising to paint the county leadership in bad light and get sympathy from unsuspecting members of the public. This is manifest from the reporting of continuous misinformation and irrelevant issues and unfounded statements. This publication insinuate that the Governor is personally sued or have interest yet H.E is only listed as a Respondent which was not necessary since the Kwale County Government is a legal entity and can sue or be sued on its own.

The County leadership together with the CS Tourism and County Commisioner and the county security team did not visit any land that does not belong to the county goverment of Kwale especially the subject matter herein after the interim orders issued against the county. The lands visited are dully registred to the county goverment of Kwale with all requicite documents from NLC and Ministry of Lands.
This matter is Res Sub Judice(it is pending before court ), we will therefore get the opportunity to defend the two acres reserved for public use herein with documentary evidence duly registered under the County Government of Kwale.

We urge the good people of Kwale to be patient as we continue to fight for the grabbed lands in our county through the legal process.

The event was graced by H.E. Fatuma Achani- Governor Kwale County and H.E. Chirema Kombo- Deputy Governor Kwale County.

H.E. Fatuma Achani- Governor Kwale County and H.E. Chirema Kombo- Deputy Governor Kwale County witnessed the Ex*****on of Performance Contract between the County Attorney and the County Solicitor.

The event also saw the signing of Performance Contracts between all County Chief Officers and the CECMs.

This will enable County officers to be measured in their set targets as they serve Kwale people.
