NG-CDF TIGANIA WEST DELIVERS BRAND NEW BUS TO KUNENE SENIOR SCHOOL

Apart from constructing new classrooms, renovating existing ones, drilling boreholes, and supporting needy learners across Tigania West through bursaries and scholarships, NG-CDF Tigania West has continued to invest in transformative education projects. One such milestone is the acquisition of a brand new school bus for Kunene Senior School, purchased through a close partnership with key friends of the institution.

The bus, officially delivered on 14th January 2025 by the area MP Hon. Dr. Mutunga, will greatly enhance student safety, improve mobility for academic and co-curricular activities, and reduce transport challenges that have previously limited exposure and performance. It is a major boost to the school’s learning environment.

The handover ceremony was successful and well attended by parents, teachers, students, and neighboring community members. This achievement reflects the power of collaboration and reaffirms NG-CDF’s commitment to improving education outcomes across Tigania West.

NG-CDF TIGANIA WEST CONDUCTS 2026 SENIOR SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP INTERVIEWS

Today, the NG-CDF Tigania West successfully conducted interviews for the 2026 Senior School Scholarship Programme targeting learners who recently sat for the KJSEA examination and are set to transition to senior school. A total of 74 shortlisted candidates were interviewed through a structured and transparent process aimed at identifying the most vulnerable and deserving learners.

The selection was guided by clear criteria, with regional balance taking priority to ensure equitable distribution across the constituency. Further consideration was given to the level of vulnerability, academic performance, and gender sensitivity, in line with inclusive education principles. Successful beneficiaries will join other learners already being supported by NG-CDF Tigania West at various education levels, strengthening continuity in access to education. This initiative reaffirms our commitment to investing in human capital and ensuring no deserving child is left behind due to financial hardship.

A Strong Start to the Academic Year for Machaku Day and St. John’s Nchooro Day Secondary Schools

It is a commendable and inspiring start for Machaku Day Secondary School and St. John’s Nchooro Day Secondary School as learners reopen to find newly completed, state-of-the-art, modern tiled dining halls, each with a seating capacity of over 100 students in a comfortable and dignified environment. This milestone reflects the ongoing facelift of learning institutions across Tigania West Constituency through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), under the able patronage and leadership of Hon.Dr. John Kanyuithia Mutunga, MP Tigania West . Such modern facilities significantly enhance students’ welfare, promote hygiene, order, and discipline, and create a conducive atmosphere for learning and social interaction. A well designed dining hall not only improves nutrition management but also boosts student morale and school pride. These investments demonstrate a firm commitment to quality education infrastructure, equitable development, and long term academic excellence, positioning our schools to deliver better outcomes and nurture well rounded learners for the future.

Accelerating Service Delivery and Digital Transformation in Tigania West

Tigania West Constituency continues to make steady and measurable progress, year after year, towards the full realization of its strategic development plan. Through the NGCDF kitty and strategic partnerships, the constituency is undergoing a transformative phase anchored on service delivery, innovation, and people-centered development.

A key milestone is the upcoming Huduma Centre at Kianjai, strategically located at the Kianjai Chiefs’ Grounds. The structure is substantially complete, with the ground floor designated as the Huduma Centre. Interior partitioning is ongoing to accommodate staff desks and service counters. Once operational, the centre will offer essential government services such as ID registration and replacement, NHIF and NSSF services, birth certificates, police clearance certificates, and other vital citizen services.

The first floor hosts a fully completed Digital Hub, designed to support up to 100 users at a time. Welding works are currently underway to install computer benches, after which the ICT team will deploy 100 computers and reliable internet connectivity. This hub will be a game changer for the digital economy empowering youth with digital skills, supporting online work, innovation, and job creation.

With secure fencing and a permanent gate already installed, the facility is safe and ready. Importantly, residents will no longer travel to Meru for Huduma services. Services are now being brought closer to the people right at the heart of Tigania West, Kianjai Town—enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving livelihoods.

* Limoro Primary School – Leveling of playground and renovation of 2 classrooms.
* Ithatene Primary School– Construction of a new classroom.

Akithi Ward

* Mweronkanga Primary School– Renovation of 2 classrooms.
* Kimuthii Primary School – Renovation of 2 classrooms.
* Ntalami Primary School– Renovation of 2 classrooms. Ntiba Primary School – Renovation of 2 classrooms.
* Kalimba Primary School– Construction of a new classroom.
* St. John’s Secondary School– Construction of a modern dining hall (95% complete).
* Nkurare Secondary School– Construction of a state-of-the-art science laboratory.
* Twale – Construction of an Assistant Chief’s office.

* Mbaarua Primary School– Construction of a new classroom, rehabilitation of another (total 2 classes), plus 20 chairs and lockers per class.
* Antubeiga Primary School– Renovation of 2 classrooms, provision of 20 chairs and lockers per class.
* Kirukire Primary School – Renovation of 2 classrooms, 20 chairs and lockers per class.
* Laaria Primary School – Construction of a new classroom with 20 chairs and lockers.
* Mumui Primary School** – Construction of a new classroom with 20 chairs and lockers.
* Machaku Day Secondary School– Construction of a multipurpose dining hall (85% complete).
* Kanjalu Girls Secondary School – Borehole sunk and solarized for both the school and community.
* Kianjai Boys Secondary School– Construction of a 6-door pit latrine.
* Mutionjuri Secondary School – Construction of 2 new classrooms with 20 chairs and lockers per class.
* Ithamare – Construction of an Assistant Chief’s office with pit latrine and urinal channel.
* Kianjai Chief’s Ground – Construction of a digital hub for youth (first floor of the Huduma Centre).

Nkomo Ward

* St. Rita Primary School – Construction of a 6-door pit latrine.
* Kunene Special School– Provision of 20 double-decker beds (40 total) with mattresses.
* Kamaroo Day Secondary School– Construction of a state-of-the-art 45-capacity science laboratory.
