The New Gatundu Municipality Covering Gatundu North and Gatundu South

06/06/2026

๐Ÿšœ The Boresha Bara Bara Programme by H.E. Governor Dr. Kimani Wamatangi has officially been rolled out!

Grading works are currently ongoing on the Kiriko-Gituamba Shopping Centre Access Road in Gituamba Ward, Gatundu North, marking the beginning of a wider road rehabilitation programme across Kiambu County.

We know that many access roads have become difficult to use, particularly during the rainy season. The good news is that works have now commenced and will continue across wards and municipalities in phases.

Your road may not be first, but it is in the plan. A little more patience and we will soon be working on the road that takes you home, to your farm, business, school, or place of worship.

Better roads mean easier movement, improved access to markets and services, and a stronger local economy.

๐Ÿšœ Road rehabilitation works have officially begun in Kiambu County!

Kamunyu B residents mko? Grading and compaction of Kamunyu B Access Road in Ngenda Ward, Gatundu South, is currently underway as part of the County Government of Kiambu's comprehensive programme to rehabilitate access roads across the county.
We understand that many of our roads have become difficult to use, especially during the rainy season. The good news is that works have now commenced across all municipalities and will continue in phases.

Your area may not be first, but it is in the plan. A little more patience and we will soon be working on the access road that takes you home.

Together, we are improving mobility, and making everyday life easier for residents. We take this opportunity to sincerely thank H.E. the Governor - Dr. Kimani Wamatangi, for his continued efforts in service delivery

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿƒ World Environment Day 2026; Gatundu Municipality ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒ

Yesterday, Gatundu Municipality joined the rest of the world in marking World Environment Day 2026, under the global theme โ€œBeating Plastic Waste.โ€

As part of the commemoration, the Municipal Manager, Ms. Ruth Waweru, flagged off a community-led tree planting exercise at Gatundu Childrenโ€™s Home, organized by Thimo Ciitu Youth Group, whose wider impact program featured:
๐ŸŒฑ Tree planting
๐Ÿงน Environmental clean-up
๐Ÿ“š Waste management awareness training
๐Ÿฅ Free medical camp
๐Ÿก Outreach support to Gatundu Childrenโ€™s Home

This initiative reflects the power of partnership between government and community in building a cleaner, greener, and healthier Gatundu for present and future generations.

We were honoured to relay a message from the Governor on the Greening Kiambu Agenda, which continues to guide our local climate action efforts. A key highlight is the ongoing transition to clean, renewable energy infrastructure, including the installation of solar-powered streetlights only, with no new grid-connected streetlights being rolled out going forward.
We appreciate all stakeholders, especially our youth groups, for taking a leading role in environmental stewardship.

Together, we move from awareness to action. ๐ŸŒฟ

African Swine Fever is real, and protecting our pigs starts with all of us.

Farmers are encouraged to stay alert and observe proper biosecurity measures to keep their herds safe. Avoid feeding pigs with swill, limit unnecessary visitors in pig pens, disinfect equipment regularly, and report any suspected cases immediately.

Remember, ASF is not a human disease but it is highly fatal to pigs and can cause huge losses to farmers. Early reporting saves your herd and protects neighboring farms.

Let us work together to safeguard livestock farming in Kiambu County.

A proud moment for healthcare in Kiambu County! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ
Our โ€œbig brotherโ€ hospital, Kiambu Level 5 Hospital, has successfully conducted its first pediatric endoscopy procedure! This is a major milestone in specialized healthcare for children. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿฝ
Endoscopy helps doctors diagnose and treat stomach, digestive and internal health conditions using a small camera-guided procedure, reducing the need for major surgery.
As Gatundu Level 5 Hospital and Igegania Hospital continue growing, such milestones inspire confidence that advanced healthcare services are getting closer to our people every day.
