I joined my colleague and brother, Paul Otuoma, in Funyula, Busia County, for an empowerment drive aimed at uplifting women and youth groups through economic empowerment initiatives.

The forum also provided an opportunity to rally support for the re-election of William Samoei Ruto, whose administration has continued to transform Western Kenya through key infrastructure, agricultural, and economic development projects that are improving livelihoods across the region.

I urged our people to remain united and support leaders who are delivering tangible development, noting that empowering communities and investing in people remains the surest path to shared prosperity and sustainable growth.

Today in Cheptais, Mt. Elgon Constituency, I joined family, friends, and residents in bidding farewell to the late Mzee Daniel Chemaket, the beloved father of our County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning, Bonny Chengeck.

Mzee Chemaket will be remembered for his wisdom, humility, and dedication to his family and community. During this moment of grief, I extended my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God's comfort and strength.

As the Scriptures remind us in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." May Mzee Chemaket's legacy continue to inspire generations to come, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.

I was pleased to host the leadership of the LAPTRUST, which manages pension schemes for county government employees and other public sector workers.

During our engagement, we discussed a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening the welfare of our workforce, with particular emphasis on ensuring that employees' pension contributions remain secure and that retirees receive their benefits promptly upon retirement.

We also explored strategies for enhancing retirement planning, financial literacy, and the long-term sustainability of pension funds. As a county government, we recognize the invaluable contribution of our employees and remain committed to supporting initiatives that guarantee them financial security and dignity in retirement after years of dedicated public service.

Today, I received a memorandum from the Matulo Airstrip Project Affected Persons Committee outlining their proposals on land valuation and compensation. The report provides justification for the compensation figures proposed by residents whose properties will be affected by the planned expansion.

I remain optimistic about this process and appreciate the continued cooperation between the affected residents and the County Government. Together, we can ensure a smooth and fair compensation process that will accelerate the expansion of Matulo Airstrip, a strategic investment that will unlock greater economic opportunities for Bungoma County.

On Thursday, I will conduct a site visit to engage further with the affected landowners and assess the situation firsthand.

I was delighted to host the Kenya National Music Festival Steering Committee as we continue preparations for this year's festival, which Bungoma County is privileged to host.

The festival presents a unique opportunity to showcase our rich cultural heritage, hospitality, and tourism potential to the entire country. With thousands of participants, trainers, officials, and visitors expected in Bungoma, local businesses from hotels and restaurants to transport operators and traders stand to benefit significantly from the increased economic activity.

My administration is committed to ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place to deliver a successful, memorable, and impactful festival that will leave a lasting legacy for our county.

At Mbale Primary School grounds in Vihiga County, I challenged opposition leaders to move beyond their political backyards and engage Kenyans across the country if they hope to mount a serious challenge in future elections.

I reaffirmed my support for President William Ruto, noting the progress his administration has made in healthcare through SHA and infrastructure projects such as the Rironiโ€“Mau Summit Road expansion.

I also urged Western Kenya to remain united and focused, saying our collective strength today will enhance the region's prospects of producing a presidential candidate in 2032.

It was refreshing to join the faithful at St. John Tongaren Catholic Church for a worship service and later participate in a fundraising drive towards the establishment of an educational centre.

I commend the church for this noble initiative, which will play a vital role in expanding access to quality education and empowering future generations.

I joined parents, teachers, and learners of Lugulu Boarding Primary School during their Annual General Meeting and reaffirmed my commitment to supporting quality education in Bungoma County.

I encouraged our learners to uphold discipline, focus on their studies, and resist negative influences, especially at a time when the country is witnessing cases of unrest in some schools.

Discipline remains the foundation of academic excellence and responsible citizenship.

I also urged teachers and parents to nurture learners with care, guidance, and understanding while maintaining discipline.

A supportive and positive learning environment is essential in helping our children thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

Together, we can build a generation that is disciplined, resilient, and ready to lead.
