The residents and traders of Merigi and Kapcherany Trading Centers have reason to celebrate today as public lighting has been fully restored in both areas. This significant achievement comes following comprehensive inspection and maintenance works carried out by the Energy Directorate under the Department of Trade, Energy, Tourism, Investment and Industry (TETII) of the County Government of Bomet.
The restoration exercise was conducted with the technical team accompanied by the Director of Trade, Mr. Paul Towett, who was on-site to oversee the entire operation. His presence underscored the County Government's commitment to ensuring that all maintenance works meet the highest standards of reliability and safety. The team worked diligently to address all technical issues that had affected the lighting systems, ensuring that both trading centers now have dependable illumination.
Public lighting plays a crucial role in the economic and social life of our trading centers. For traders who begin their operations in the early morning hours or continue business into the evening, adequate lighting is essential for conducting their activities safely and efficiently. The restored lighting system will enable businesses to operate with confidence, knowing that their premises and customers are well-illuminated and secure.
Beyond the economic benefits, the restoration of public lighting significantly enhances security in both Merigi and Kapcherany. Well-lit public spaces deter criminal activities and provide residents with the confidence to move freely through the trading centers even after dark. This improvement in security infrastructure contributes to the overall quality of life for community members and creates a more welcoming environment for both local residents and visitors.
The County Government of Bomet, through the Department of TETII, continues to demonstrate its dedication to improving infrastructure across all trading centers in the county. This proactive approach to maintenance and service delivery reflects the administration's understanding that reliable public utilities are fundamental to economic growth and community development.
This successful restoration of public lighting exemplifies the County Government's commitment to responsive service delivery. We commend the hard work and dedication of the technical team who carried out this important work. Special recognition goes to the Director of Trade, Mr. Paul Towett, who demonstrated exemplary leadership by accompanying the team on-site, showing his support and solidarity with their efforts to serve the community. His presence not only motivated the team but also reinforced the County Government's hands-on approach to meeting the needs of our people. The County Government remains committed to building a brighter future for all residents of Bomet County.
