For decades, the women of Kenya’s pastoralist communities have been the custodians of some of our nation’s richest cultural assets. Through intricate beadwork traditions passed down across generations, they have preserved identity, heritage, and indigenous knowledge systems. Yet despite the global value of these cultural products, many artisans remained excluded from formal markets, vulnerable to exploitation and disconnected from the economic value chains they helped create.

Today, I joined stakeholders at the Ushanga Kenya Initiative Roundtable Breakfast Meeting to discuss how we can scale a programme that is empowering women through market access, digital innovation, intellectual property protection, and sustainable livelihoods.

As Ushanga Kenya evolves into a sustainable social enterprise, our focus remains clear: protecting culture, expanding economic opportunities, and ensuring that the women who preserve our heritage fully benefit from the value they create.

KABARNET TOWN CHURCH

Today, I had the privilege of congregating with the believers of AIC Kabarnet town church alongside the Area MP Hon Joshua Kandie , Mp Baringo Central . It was truly a blessing to join the believers in praising God and sharing His Word. We were encouraged by the faith, unity, and commitment demonstrated by the church members as they continue to serve God and contribute positively to the growth of the community.

I sincerely thank the church leadership and the entire congregation for their warm reception, prayers, and unwavering dedication to the work of God. Such moments remind us of the importance of standing together in faith, promoting unity, and trusting in God's guidance as we serve our people. May the Lord continue to bless AIC Kabarnet, strengthen its ministry, and grant favour and prosperity to all its members.

We are going to construct a modern dormitory worth KSh 30 million at Kapropita Girls High School, a transformative project aimed at improving the school's infrastructure and enhancing the welfare of students. This significant investment will provide safe, spacious, and comfortable accommodation, creating a more conducive environment for learning and personal development. The new facility will help address accommodation challenges, improve students' well-being, and support the school's continued growth and academic excellence. Our commitment remains focused on investing in education and ensuring that learners have access to quality facilities that empower them to achieve their full potential.

Today, I had the honour of joining the Kapropita Girls High School fraternity during the Rehoboth 2025 KCSE Thanksgiving Ceremony alongside John Kipchumba Tanui the area mp Hon Joshua Kandie , Mp Baringo Central as we celebrated a remarkable academic milestone The school’s impressive performance, including a mean score of 7.144 (C+) and a university transition rate of 68.9%, is a testament to the power of hard work, discipline, resilience, and collective effort.

I congratulate the students, teachers, Board of Management, parents, guardians and all stakeholders whose dedication continues to make Kapropita Girls High School a centre of excellence.

As we celebrate academic achievement, we must also reaffirm the importance of positive parenting, mentorship and strong partnerships between families and schools in nurturing confident, responsible, and resilient young people.
