Rear Admiral Mark Hammond, AM, RAN, hands over the weight to newly appointed Deputy Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Christopher Smith, CSM, RAN, in a ceremony at Navy Headquarters in Canberra.
The Royal Australian Navy has a new deputy chief, with Rear Admiral (RADM) Christopher Smith taking over duties from RADM Mark Hammond in Canberra. "Taking the weight" is a Navy tradition, practiced both at sea and ashore.
The "weight" in this case is a statue, featuring a male sailor and female officer. The statues represent Navy people which are a key element of Deputy Chief of Navy's brief.

What is the Book of Mormon? Can it really change your life and make it better?
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Today, during our Relief Society class at church, we shared our personal testimonies of its truthfulness and how we came to know it.
I was blessed to hear testimonies expressed in unique and heartwarming ways. Each of us received the assurance that we can know of God's personal love for us. That's what the Book of Mormon is about: knowing Jesus Christ and receiving a witness of Him.
Studying it daily, along with other scriptures, reflects our desire to know the Lord and His promised blessings for us, as well as His warnings and admonitions.
I testify that the Book of Mormon will help you draw closer to God more than ever. It will help you discern truth from error and provide direction in your life.
