I am a United States Navy vice admiral currently serving as the deputy chief of naval operations for information warfare and the Director of Naval Intelligence. Previously, I served as the 53rd commander of the United States Seventh Fleet, a position I held starting in 2021. My naval career began after receiving a commission in 1986 through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, and I hold a ba
chelor’s degree in management systems as well as a Master of Science in information technology. I began my career as a carrier aviator flying the E-2C Hawkeye, and over the years, I commanded multiple key naval units including Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 117, commanding several aircraft carriers such as USS Carl Vinson, USS Abraham Lincoln, and USS Mount Whitney. I have also led Carrier Strike Group 5 and served as assistant deputy chief of naval operations for operations, plans, and strategy. In my current role, I manage critical aspects of Navy information warfare specialties including intelligence, cryptography, oceanography, communications, and cyber warfare, while integrating naval intelligence activities with other federal agencies.
