Afloat Training Group - Western Pacific (ATGWP)'s expert Explosive Safety Assessors were aboard USS Dewey (DDG 105), conducting vital training and evaluations. The training covered all facets of ordnance safety, from ready service lockers led by Chief Aviation Ordnanceman Andrew Hopson, to torpedo magazine protocols with Chief Gunner’s Mate Philip Stutesman, and magazine sprinkler systems with Chief Gunner’s Mate Adrian Lassiter.

This hands-on verification of critical procedures is a fundamental component of certifying a warship's combat readiness and ensuring the safety of the crew. ATGWP remains focused on ensuring the fleet is ready to execute its mission safely and effectively.
