***POV Shipping in Japan Update***
The Global POV Contract IV (GPC IV), managed by USTRANSCOM, is projected to go into effect 1 Oct 2019. As the result of the GPC IV contract, two Vehicle Processing Centers (VPCs) will stand up in Japan: one in Yokohama (mainland Japan) and the other in Naha (Okinawa Japan). The VPCs will be Contracted Owned/Contracted Operated (CO/CO) by the current GPC contractor International Auto Logistics (IAL) - www.pcsmypov.com. The exact address of the CO/CO VPCs has not been published. IAL will assume all responsibility, liability, costs for receipt/delivery, processing, and transportation of the POV from the point of receipt to final delivery. The transition will be seamless; the customers will not see a difference in the support they are currently receiving. The DoD will continue to pay for one POV shipment at Government expense if a POV shipment is authorized on PCS orders and IAW the Joint Travel Regulation.
